He's not getting bought out and if the Celtics get Paul George and Gordon Hayward then Melo will have increased his trade value.

Yeah, no way to a buyout. If he wants his money, he can drop the NTC and get traded to a team that will give us something in return. Otherwise, we're paying him to play somewhere else for nothing.

Marc Stein is reporting that Melo's preference is to remain in NY but at the same time trying to get bought out. So if he gets bought out the only team he should sign with is Brooklyn. If he signs with another team without giving us a chance to trade him there, his staying in NY story was bullsheeeit. Same people that are writing he wants to stay close to his only son are writing he'll go to Cleveland if bought out. Are we buying out his feelings for his son too?

That's actually kinda smart by Phil

Putting it out there that while we want Melo gone, we're not just gonna let him walk to a contender, they have to trade for him

Melo isn't actively hurting the locker room, and while the situation is indeed awkward, there has been worse player-FO relationships. If we don't get an offer, it really doesn't hurt us too much to just sit on our hands

Melo is the worst thing that ever happened to the knicks.

Besides that 1 fluke 54 win season his tenure here has been an abomination.

From jeremy lin to mike dantoni to even now with porzingis he has ruined everything.

Does Cavs even want Melo if they need to give two or three rotation players + picks?

Was Phil serious when he said in his interview after the season, that he wont trade Melo for scraps..

So we actually need to find team who wants Melo, Melo wants to go there, and they are willing to pay something.. Unreal.

Phil also had a chance to tell Melo he wanted him gone but instead asked Melo if he wanted to be here or not. I think this was before a game in Boston.

Phil's been all talk in regards to this trade Melo stuff.

He won't even entertain a buy out. I don't think he wants him gone, he just wants him to adapt.
