Did you even read the article?

"They have experience, depth and happen to be two guards capable of running the show for a team with two stars in Amare and Melo who will want the ball when they are called upon to step up and play like stars.

Lin is no scrub. He can play. The Knicks, undoubtedly, will acknowledge this.

But while doing so, they should just make sure to ask two questions of anyone who thinks Lin deserves such an exorbitant amount of money:

What exactly did 25 games prove?

And when did Jeremy Lin -- in Year 3 of this deal -- become the second coming of Chris Paul?"

Chew on that for a while...

no it will be 30.6 as opposed to 30 flat if we keep Lin. (Unless you are naively considering Grant hill a member of the knicks) What a huge difference.

I think he's in the know and he's trying to sell it to the fan base, he seemed to have good information on a good amount of things, he knew about Chandler before we signed him or maybe even before we were linked to him.

25 games is enough for some people to believe he's worth a max deal. This board is infected with morons.

I don't post often, but I kind of have a semi off topic story in regards to Lin and contract negotiations. It doesn't really have much to do with his free agency, but it kind of mirrors how the negotiations have gone.

I'm somewhat of a Knicks memorabilia collector. I know a guy that works for Steiner Sports, a company that does memorabilia and autograph signings mainly of NY area athletes (the co. that did the Shump, Lin, Novak interview a while back).

During the start of the Linsanity craze, he emailed me to let me know they booked Lin for a signing and wanted to know if I was interested. I had some disposable cash so I said I'd take an 8x10 photo. I thought it was kind of pricey; $80 for a guy who in all likely hood just put together a few good games. I paid them and was told that everything was negotiated and good to go. He would be signing the following week.

A couple of weeks went by and Linsanity was in full craze. I hadn't heard anything so I emailed the dude and he said that Lin's camp seemed to be putting it off. After another week, he told me that Lin's representation was pushing for renegotiation of the terms of his signing. Eventually, at around the 25 game mark, I was told by Steiner that the new deal was reached with Lin and prices had changed. As a result, I was being refunded my $80 and if I was interested, I could purchase the same picture for $190.

I was pissed and I called and raised hell and eventually they said that they would honor my original price. The supervisor I talked to told me a little bit about the situation. He said that it seemed like Lin and his camp were unfamiliar with dealing with his new fame. They would agree to a fee, then hedge on the written agreement and want more money.

They told me that they couldn't very well tell me what they pay for him to sign, but did say that if they were hypothetically paying him $1 to sign, they were now paying him $20. He was kind of nervous if they would even make any kind of a profit in the end, but they had exclusive rights for his autographs and they had to take the risk.

I don't blame Lin for going after the money; to be honest I would as well. But the situation with Steiner just seems to be kind of similar to this back and forth with Houston; agreeing, not being sure, wanting more money, etc.

Like I said, this isn't really relevant, I just thought it'd be cool to share.
