Like i said Melo goes to NJ its about the money! How would he look to go to a 10-30 team right now over Denver or NY who have the same record and in the playoffs? How the hell can he explain that? oh thats right the contract extension! the money!

The assumption that he's going to step up this part of his game once he plays for D'Antoni is beyond ridiculous.

And that's precisely the plan. It makes the "I really gave NJ a thought with Brooklyn being the place I was born-blah blah but in the end I couldn't turn down playing with Stat and the Knicks only because I felt they were closer to contending for a championship-etc... Since he can't be HONEST because of the backlash he could get he has to play the game.

Look, at the end of the day if Mello "REALLY" want to play for the Knicks he can, period. His image isn't going to take no bigger hit by chosen NY over NJ. Besides, we are talking about a three year extension if I'm not mistaken. At the end of his contract he'll be like 29-30 years old, in his prime and in line for another large contract. I don't know how this factors into his decision making, but if he truly wants to be a knick he can be. He may think that two years into his contract the Nets will be moving to Brooklyn with one year remaining on his contact. Maybe he thinks that if he don't like the scenery, he'll only have one year to suffer. I don't know, just bouncing thinks around in my head. But again, if he "REALLY" wants to be a Knick he can be.

RIP is being BENCHED because of trade talk...I'd assume its done(player agreement wise), and now we find out if Melo says YAY OR NAY....

RIP is going to be dealt one way or the other-- they may not want him to get hurt, regardless of what happens with the Nets, they will try to move him.

Melo said: “I got to feel like I have a chance of reaching my ultimate goal of a championship. Going to a bigger market is cool, but if I feel like I have a chance of winning a championship here in Denver in the next five years, then I’d sign the extension.”

“A lot of things come in to play – contracts and not knowing what’s going to happen in the future. I’m going into my ninth season. I don’t have time to waste. I want to see the light at the end of the tunnel in my future, and that light is a championship.”

“My ultimate goal at the end of the day is to win a championship – whether I feel I can do that here or go somewhere else. At the end of the day, you have to make that decision of what’s best for you and your career. Right now, whatever decision I make will be what’s best for me. … Still, I have a chance to win a championship and make less money, I don’t have a problem with that.”

theres no way he can be convinced that the nets can win a championship in 5 years.. i refuse to believe it.. This sounds damn good for the knicks if u ask me

The Russian will try to sell Anthony that they can win a championship, and they can win next year, and they can form a "BIG 4" Brook Lopez had a big night vs the Lakers, so I am sure he will focus on that, and that Billups and RIP won a championship together and know how to get it done, and everything will be centered around Anthony. He will sell his vision of the Brooklyn thing, his vision of the marketing capabilities with a new arena and Melo leading it.

Obviously, we all know this is bullsh., but I hope Melo sticks to the plan

I'm excited for the New York Knicks - Brooklyn New Yorkers rivalry.

Should be a fun ride, IMO.

Come on guys... Don't be shell shocked from the Lebron situation. Melo is coming to play with the Bull dogs... Stat, Felton, and Melo is the new big three... That's the core guys. Hopefully Fields and Gallo are a part of that.

There isn't really a reason to drop that line if he's going to get traded to Jersey, is there?

Also: A blind man can see that they aren't building a championship team with that trade. The only light at the end of that tunnel is a train coming towards you.
