For those who are opposed to the rumored deal, if you knew that Melo would not be a Knick if we waited till free agency, would you still be against the deal?

Yahoo reports, and I have confirmed the upped offer from Knicks to Nuggets for Melo.

Remember the deal referenced by Dempsey and Spears of Yahoo does not include Fields/Moz

the deal is pretty much set unless something unexpected happens. can it even be official till monday ?

I think so but maybe the teams want to wait until after the ASG to announce.

From an artistic standpoint it's excellent. Yours?

All it needs is some carnival music to make it perfect.

I can't disagree with this @ all my friend. It would be nice if Dolan just cut the checks & leave the Basketball Operations to those people who know what their doing.. (those not name Isiah Thomas)

yea, and the thing is, dolan admitted he doesn't know a thing about basketball..the guy is just a screw up.. and so unprofessional..

Make that deal ASAP.

Follow that up by somehow finding another defensive big and backup PG and the Knicks are contenders THIS YEAR.

And the bottom line is this felton is better than billups right now. we are essentially trading Ed Curry and Chandler for Billups, and trading AR, Gallo and Felton for Carmelo. They want to get Bilups off the books and instead of including Azubuike and Bill Walker we offer Felton

Basically!
Some people don't understand this...

"better players next year" - who the heck will we be getting next year that's better than Melo? You have to do this one star at a time, chances of us getting a max guy and putting those assets to use on anyone remotely similar to the skill of Melo are slim to none.

Curry goes to two places at once? I mean I know hes really fat but I don't think we can just cut some lard off his stomach and trade it to Minnesota

Personally im fine with giving up both gallo and will. Both play melos position and people gotta remember this is a dantoni team. Melo and amare will play heavy mins and we will run a tight ro, meaning we would basically limiting gallo a lot. Fields and mozzy on the other hand look like very good complimentary pieces...
