Do you seriously expect him to say what he's proactively working on?

Kinda hard to be proactive when Denver doesn't wanna have meaningful conversations no? Hell the Nuggets aren't even being upfront with the Nets right now as they keep trying to dump more sh*t on them. What you need to take from that is him saying (again) if there is an oppurtunity to improve he will do it and if not there is always free agency. Maybe D'Antoni is attached to his players but Donnie Walsh is cold blooded and if the opportunity presents itself to get better and it makes sense, he will pull the trigger in a heart beat.

Do we really think Al Harrington is going to stop the Nets from making this deal? They're desperate, why would they not accept him if it means getting Melo . . if that is the scenario, I don't see it holding it up for much long. . . .

now if it's Melo not signing on the other hand, that may be something . . but right now, logic is telling me Melo and his agent would have to be somewhat on the same page for talks to be at such an extent.... i mean, if Melo had zero intentions on going to the Nets I just don't see these talks getting this far, even if it is Rose supposedly working without Melos consent... Hopefully this one will begin to deteriorate just like the others, but i'm not sure. . .

I like how all the writers, like Broussard are tweeting about how it's Al who's holding the deal up, as if melo agreeing is already done. . . just happens to leave that little bit out... until Al finds a home and its still at a standstill, at which point he'll throw in " of course, Melo still has to sign off on this all" [....or else everything i've been reporting isn't worth ****]

i do find it interesting that both amare and walsh made public declarations today which seemed to answer melo questioning our interest. guess they wanted everyone to know.

Al Harrington prevents them from getting CP3. Remember, they are gonna have to pay Brook Lopez too.

As Nets and Pistons wait, Houston is quietly trying to get back into the Anthony chase. Sources say Rockets have talked to Denver recently.

Rockets have long thought that the longer talks with Nets/Knicks dragged on, they might have a shot at getting back in.

One source warned nothing was close with Houston. But Rockets GM Daryl Morey has made no secret of his desire to acquire stars via trade.

Yep doubt Al is holding up that trade. I f you look at the nets roster Al Harrington would be their best player...that aint no lie.

I wonder how much of this was true to begin with and who is leaking what.
As for Donnie and Amres statements again they can not directly address a player under contract to another team so what the heck do you expect them to say publicly. Now if Amare and Melo talk on the side that is between them. thanks to the idiots in south beach and the toast at melos wedding that is why the nuggets won't talk or respond to the Knicks questions

After reading the latest batch of rumors, all i can think is How the hell are NBA journalists so bad. It's like they make up bull, see how many people they can believe then back peddle the crap out of it. It's so predictable. By tomorrow we'll be reading what complications led to this trade being shot down.

Something like man N.J was so close but they didn't spin around three times and then JR smith did a bird dance so the deal is off....for now. But look out cause Chicago wants may be involved in a nine team trade involving 21 players with half of Carmelo going to Chicago and the other half to Atlanta

See, I can report bs too.

Even if they don't include Al Harrington and don't keep Lopez, they still won't be able to get CP3. If this trade goes through, their 2012 cap situation would look like this:

Carmelo Anthony - Around $20 million
Rip Hamilton - $12.65 million
Travis Outlaw - $7.0 million
Jordan Farmar - $4.25 million

$43.9 million.. throw in the three 1st round picks between 2011 and 2012 they'd have left after this trade that they'd have to pay, and they can't sign him as a free agent. Only chance they'd have is if New Orleans sent them CP3 for an extended Lopez, Farmar, and a bunch of picks. In other words.. not happening.
