I want @

#17
Nikola Vucevic - Perfect for our system, won't be a bust. Great size at 6'11 and 260 lbs. Good jump shoot and back to the basket game. Can running the floor and rebound. Want be a dominating center but should have a long decent career. Not as agressivse in the post like turiaf but will bang you. Only 20 and will get bigger and stronger. Hey can't be worse than J.Jefferies.

Second First Rounder
Marshon Brooks - Sorry guys but the dude will bust L.Fields butt in practice everyday. Can shoot off curls and screens. A good set shooter. Doesn't need the ball in his hands to be effective. Imagine Melo passing to a cutting brooks for a slam. Currently training with the best the in Tim Grover (MJ former trainer). Dude wants to be the best. He could be that third star we need on this team.

Second Rounder
Iman Shumpert - Dude is huge, 6'5.5 and 222 lbs, he is faster, stronger and quicker than Morris and Selby. Only 20 and will get better. With him playing the PG at times you can have TD go back to his FSU days of catch and shooting. Good at getting in the lane for a bucket or pass. Also a great wing defender.

Second Rounder
Justin Harper - Good spot-up and three point shooter. Versatile big men. Will help spread the floor for Melo and Stats.

or

Keith Benson - Great length. Needs to put on weight. Can hit the open med range jumper. Great rebound and block shot potential.

Well judging from the votes, it's been an all out race between the Faried and Jimmer fans lol. It's like as soon as the votes go up for one, votes get cast for the other. It's a good thing the voting got locked too, because votes from the other players were going towards that showdown as well haha. I would also like to say that my vote was for Nogueira, even though it feels like a long time since Jimmer and Lucas were tied for the lead (both were at 17 at one point I think- Lucas went down one while Fredette kept going up).

And I gotta say it was mostly cause I'm still pretty stuck on trying to get a center- I have them at Donatas, Lucas, Vucevic and Tyler now in that order. There are PGs and SGs mixed in there too though. Still waiting on the athletic test results, and of course the individual workouts.

Holy cow Charles Jenkins talks fast (but seems like a real sharp and personable guy)...would not be against adding him if the Knicks manage another 1st round pick.

Marshon Brooks interview...at no point did I catch him referring to himself in the 3rd person (so that's a good thing). Sounds pretty smart and sharp.

Jeremy Tyler...sounds extremely bright (kinda reminds me a little of Will Smith...may be the ears lol)...but hard not to get a feeling that he thinks a whole lot of himself.

Until further notice, my preference is Marshon Brooks. For this system, for the Knicks need to hit a home run...Brooks just makes the most sense. Sure there are some great shooters in the draft but Brooks can shoot as well. What he can do that the other great shooters can't is create shots for himself AND others. Honestly I think Tim Grover may be onto something here when he said that of all the players that he's every worked with that Brooks reminds him of Kobe Bryant the most...

Within minutes of walking into the gym, it was clear that Brooks was playing at a completely different level than I'm used to seeing from college prospects. As I moved over to Grover, I began to grill him.

"Who does he remind you of?" Grover grinned. I was afraid to answer. Grover smiled and said, "There's a little bit of Kobe in him, isn't there?" He had read my mind.

Grover has been working on tweaking his shot mechanics and he's shooting the ball much better. But it's Brooks' ability to put the ball on the floor and get buckets that's notable -- even a little Kobe-esque. His lateral quickness, step-backs and aggressiveness were as impressive as anything I've seen this year.

Off the court, Brooks came off as very focused and intense. He's very serious and confident in a way that could be read as cocky. But he has the respect of everyone in the gym and Grover said he's a very hard worker.

My issue with Brooks is that hes just not that athletic. He lacks explosion and you can see it in the highlights. There is a smoothness to his game that does resemble an older Kobe, but I wonder how he'll be able to get his shots off and finish at the basket in the pros. Hes also not a great shooter, which we obviously need. Off the dribble he only shot 27% so its not like hes a maestro creating his own shot either. These things, along with being rail thin, are why hes not looked at as a lottery pick, and rightfully so.

I mean, it's pretty clear he models his game after Kobe, but he reminds me more of a Nick Young type with the erratic shot selection and unwillingness to incorporate his teammates into the offense at times.

He's more athletic than Klay Thompson. If Brooks speed/athleticism is an issue in terms of NBA ability, what does it say about Thompson? Are we drafting a 6'6" Steve Kerr?

He shot almost 48% from the field this season (59% from 2 point range). That's pretty good for being erratic no?

How is he more athletic than Thompson? If anything they are equal. Thompson is also stronger and can shoot like hell, while being a better passer. Dont get all defensive on me again. I like Marshon but hes not better than Klay and not as good a fit.

Still could very much do without the contested, poor looks from 3 early in the shot clock that he does too often.

How is Klay Thompson equally athletic? If Thompson was equally athletic he'd be a lottery pick considering his size and his shooting ability. No? Think.
