Comes right back down to Thibs vs. Talent. Thibs' system favors ISO ball but this team only has 1 ISO player. Give him 2 ISO players and Thibs is orgasmic. Getting Mikal and Bridges while not altering your X's and O's means these new guys are already playing at a disadvantage.
But you also have to consider that the playoffs is geared heavily towards ISO basketball. So we need multiple creators regardless of who the coach is.
I always been of the mindset there's more than 1 way to skin a cat.
Pacers only have 1 shot creator and he's not really an ISO guy, but their system is built on high tempo with the ISO stuff falling to Siakam. Similarly, Thunder don't really have a secondary ISO guy, but their system involves player and ball movement. Detroit only has 1 ISO guy. ISO ball is something that's typically the last couple of minutes of a game. Not an entire freakin' game ala Thibs. Another coach gets more of these new guys because any coach can see where this team's talents are and it's not a grind it out method.
With that said and with this coach, I prefer JB/Randle. The KAT trade was a wasted move if he isn't truly embracing the 5-and-out concept. It's stubbornness at its highest form.
