hes not throwing money at guys without thinking it out

clearly he's learning on the job but what he's not doing is making short term decisions to make himself more popular, to increase the success in his tenure only or to give himself small gains at the detriment of the franchise

not trading picks
drafting Porz
short, reasonable, unsexy contracts

these are the signs of a confident man who has the long term in mind

Phil is changing the culture and making it an attractive place to get that big star next to Melo. Why would anyone want to come to this team? If we can show that KP and Grant have a future in this league, possibly trade Calderon at the deadline for anything beneficial then we actually have a chance at getting someone. Playing in New York isn't what is used to be. Good players can get endorsements and be a face in the NBA from any team nowadays. New York weather is mostly cold and the Media will destroy you whether your an all star or not, these aren't selling points without over paying. If we can grab the 8th seed and show we have a plan for the future that will attract someone for the ride. We are not winning a title this year either way.
