I just moved to Tulsa so I'm glad that i'll see competitive Thunder team with Melo-PG13-WB-Adams. Its also nice to see cancerous Enes Kanter is leaving. Kanter might have little positive impact on regular season but he was a big hole in post season.
*PG-Melo can play 3-4 positions. Melo as 3rd option would be similar to Melo's Olympic team role. Melo plays good at PF with tough centers. Adams-Melo-PG13 frontcourt looks pretty good.
*Simply trading Kanter's bad contract with Melo. Makes perfect sense. Even if OKC plays competitive WCF this year PG13 might decide to stay here and they increased their chances by good margin.
But as a Knicks fan I hated this trade.
*Enes Kanter would just steal WHG playing time. He doesnt do anything better than WHG. Seriously. He's just have little bit more experience. Bad contract.
Net negative asset.
*Mcdermott+2nd rounder doesnt compansate anything. Mcdermott doesnt fit well with KP/WHG anyway.
*Enes Kanter isnt like other Europeans on the team. He follows an Islamic sect. KP-Kuz-WHG back then Vujacic-Calderon had similar living styles. Also Turkish people hate him and his sect. There will be difficulties, issues about that.
*KP would get much more pressure on his shoulders after Melo's departure.
*This trade wont help tanking much too. Kanter using his player option more likely than Melo staying in NY. So we wont have max player slot in FA.
All in all, watch out for KP to ask trade in a year.
This franchise is doomed and a Unicorn probably wont be enough to save it.
Nobody is stealing Willy's minutes.
Kanter being a net negative is good for our tank because how bad he is defensively. I'm also thinking he gets traded this year from the Knicks.
Dougie actually fits as a small ball 4 next to either guy.
The second rounder is incredibly valuable.
Kanter being Islamic / Turkish is irrelevant.
KP having more pressure could be a good thing.
You don't know Kanter is going to use his P/O, and if he doesn't exercise it (I personally think he will), we still have more cap space than we did with Melo.
LOL at the bold. That's garbage.
I'm not pleased with what we got in return because I wanted this package in addition to one of Abrines, a first, or T-Ferg, but it is what it is. It's way better than getting back Anderson's contract.
