We also have Delon Wright's contract.

The Knicks waived Ryan's unguaranteed contract and converted him to a 2-way contract when they added Shamet in December I believe. They have a limited amount of room under the second apron where they were hard capped after aggregating salaries to complete the Mikal deal. I assume the date where they can fit a prorated vet min deal of a player of 2 years of experience or more is around March 1st.

Cutting fully-guaranteed contracts like Wright or Shamet would not open up more money under the cap. 10 day contracts count against the cap. I assume signing guys to 10 day contracts would simply push back the March 1st date another 10 days for the opportunity to sign someone to a vet min deal for the 15th roster spot which may not make sense if they have a specific guy they want/promised to add to the roster on March 1st and the longer they wait the less talent will be available.

Someone can correct me if i'm wrong.

I've been begging us to bring him up and drop Dadiet down (he never plays, so what's the point). Okeke would give us the backup minutes we need at the 3-4. We'll see what Philly does with him. At least it gives me a reason to watch the local Sixers games. Looks like they're ready to tank.

We can't shuffle players back and forth between the leagues unless they are on two way deals or rookies, that's bring up send down. Pay attention. Jesus. The team is not sending anyone down to G League that isn't a rookie or on a two way deal. We aren't moving players back and forth that aren't under contract already. We can't just add and subtract players without going over the apron. Period. After February we can add ANY vet minimum salary to the team and stay under the apron. Until then no one is coming to the Knicks that isn't already here.
