seeding isn't going to be attached to division leaders any longer. they just announced that rule change around the time of the draft.

just gotta be top 8 in the conference now. that would, in our case, likely entail having won the division, but not necessarily the other way around.

that still yet to be approved. majority of the owners still need to vote in favor of

No, it's really not possible. The deals you just recently signed crushed any hopes of that. No one is taking on Calderon for the Knicks to get an expiring in Lee. You can't send out a worse player and contract, and get a better player and contract!

But in all seriousness.....it's impossible without a future pick or something, a reason to entice taking Jose.

huh? We are talking about whether it is possible under the cap. Incentive has NOTHING to do with it.

Also, worst contract? That is in the eye of the beholder because Calderon is owed LESS money than Lee over the life of their remaining contracts.

It's only possible under the cap if there's incentive to do so! Why would someone take on two years of Calderon without some sort of extra piece? You know, like in most lopsided trades.....the other team has to make it worth their while!

And yes....Jose's contract is worse for a couple of reasons. An expiring is always worth more than a multi year deal. David Lee is a better, younger, and more durable player. And GM's don't care about price as long as it fits the cap rules, the billionaire owners don't care if they are paying Lee for 15.5 for one year or Calderon for 14 and change......as long as they are the better team. And newsflash....you are likely a better if you have David Lee over Jose Calderon.

yeah. exactly. i don't know why everyone called him a scrub. i thought he was tough beyond his abilities. and stood up to players who tried to intimidate. for the price, i thought he was a solid pickup.

no we didn't we just couldn't commit 4 years to him and give him the playing time he deserved

this is kinda like our ridnour/green/gordon deals where we overpay them for a year since we need to make salary cap or just keep a 3rd stringer available
