see, everyone is jumping to conclusions "lebron is a diva" ... "lebron is trying to profit off this, that and the other thing"... blah blah

Everything is falling into place as we hoped.. if anything, we shoudl be more optimistic than ever

1) LeBron has publically shown an affinitey for NY (statements, actual visitin the city, etc.)
2) Walsh went through with a lopsided trade to clear cap for THIS year which appears to have NO benefit unless James was coming to town with a 2nd max
3) Cavs lose in 2nd round (SECOND ROUND!!!!) as his teammates disappear AGAIN after a 1st seeded, 60+ win season...
4) New York is the 1st destination for his free agent tour
5) Bosh (via sources) named NY as one of his destinations, and also said pairing with LeBron is the first preference, and NY is the only team that can sign them outright

these are all facts

Will he return to Cleveland? I really REALLY don't think so... he "quit" on them this playoffs, their team is capped out, devoid of assetts (well, they got big expirings, thats it), and old, fading fast, and has no stars nor the ability to add a star without significant baggage

I believe LeBron would have bolted 3 years ago, but his options were limited as far as teams with projected cap space. Hence, he gave it another 3 years, all before the typical prime age of 27, which also gave other potential teams (cough cough New York) to do what they needed to clear their cap.

That knocks cleveland off the list, who already had 7 chances to build a champ and failed (losing Boozer, signing Hughes/Marshall/Jones, killing flexibility by trading for overpaid, no defense vets)

As for other options, only Chicago poses a legit argument for LeBron. Miami and Clippers aren'ty even locks for his FA visits. New Jersey? shoot me.

I'm going to Bodog tonight to put $500 on LeBron to Knicks, ill take the great odds!!!

Exactly, everybody jumping to conclusions about this guy and always assuming the worst. No basis for it at all.

I'm not sure I understand why everyone dislikes LeBron.

He's a good person! He didn't grow up well-off like Kobe, who is an egomaniac and refused to play for the Hornets. LeBron never did that with the Cavs and never complained along the way. He didn't demand anything as a drafted player.

Now he's taking his time, using a contractually bargained for right and everybody wants this or that out of him -- he is playing by the rules of the CBA. It's ridiculous. He's not even a free-agent yet! Give the man a chance to breathe.

Nobody hated MJ who was a despicable person and who still is.

LeBron is a class act and a man who gives back to his community.

I actually said he's a Knicks fan a couple of days ago. I honestly think he is. Not a cap-wearing, must-know-the-score type fan. But a fan nonetheless.

Why?

He understands the importance the Knicks have for the league.

He feels for the fans suffering.

He knows how great it would be for the Knicks to rise from the ashes.

He view NYC as the center of the universe.

These are all things that a Knicks fan would say. He's essentially a fan.

I agree with everything you said, other than what I put in bold. You cannot honestly believe that Cleveland fans have not had more suffering than we have. Their city is a dump and they haven't won squat since the 60's. If he is going to feel for any suffering fans, it would have to be the ones in his own state. At least we were perennial playoff contenders before this horrible decade and have gone to the finals several times winning two in our history. The Cavs? lol. At this point, I honestly pity them (Cleveland fans). I know Knicks fans have been suffering, but put yourself in their shoes.

I don't mean he doesn't feel for Cavs fans too. I just mean he feels for Knicks fans. He said as much ... said something like "It's hard for them to look at what they've been looking at."

Yeah, cuz I have no clue what kind of sneak he would've came up for NJ....lol....kidding. They prolly would've came out with two different sneaks for NY had it been true.

Anyway, I've seen comments on the Knicks Talent, Bulls talent, Thunder talent over the past couple days including from my own opinions. Lemme ask you your honest opinion on the next NY team...the Nets. And I'll trust you'll put your Knicks love aside, and I hope that you've paid a little attention to the player on the current Nets squad instead of judging them as a team.

Let's start with Lopez. I don't know how good this kid can be. On some nights he looks like he may turn into the dominant center many predict he may be. Other nights, he looks like he'll be just good, make an all-star game or two, but looks nothing close to a franchise Center. My opinion is...he's 21/22 years old and he played on a team in which he was the only scoring threat due to the supporting cast's youth and Devin Harris's injury. To judge him now is still too early.

Now onto Devin, the kid, when healthy is more of a scorer than a passing PG, but he does have the ability to win games on his own. Not sure he's the perfect compliment for a center like Lopez. If Harris can stay healthy then he can be a special player...a tweener though.

Courtney Lee, another 21/22 year old kid who on some night can shoot the lights out. Everyone saw how he can contribute to a championship caliber time such as the Magic. I think he's a nice young piece any team can use. Best case scenario is that he'll be a poor man's RIP Hamilton....just my opinion.

Terrence Williams. Nice 6th man coming off the bench. Might be able to start if he ever develops a consistent midrange shot. All the athleticism in the world.

Anyway, I'd like to know what you think of these guys....what you think of the new ownership...and how long it'll take for this team to rebuild.

Lopez is a bad defender and solid scorer. I didn't like him very much coming out and Bropez has done little to sell me on him as anything more than a good solid starter.

I dislike Harris' game a lot, but then again I like point guards who try and create for their team-mates, but maybe that's just me.

Courtney Lee I like he'll never be a star but like our own Wilson Chandler he has everything to be a good rotational player on a good team who can score some point for you, play smart and give effort on D. T-will is probably my favorite Net even though the kid still isn't a good shooter at all, he's been making progress in that area and if he can become a decent shooter I like him a lot, game changing ability on D, a smart passer, deadly at attacking the paint and he's actually got some point skills as he can run a team.

As for what it'll take for them to rebuild that depends greatly on how they do in FA, if they can bring in Lee or Boozer to start at PF and a scoring wing like JJ or Gay I think they can become a pretty devent playoff contender, although for them to actually be contenders they need Favors or whomever they draft at number 3 to become a true star down the road. If that happens a Favors and Lee front court with Bropez off of the bench cna make them very tough but I just don't see them becoming true contenders unless Favors can surpass Dwight as the NBA's best big man.

back on that topic.. yea i dont get why peopel hate on lebron

based on interviews and stuff i have seen, hes a fun loving guy... likes to joke... calls warren buffet "uncle warren". he just seems like a pleasure to be around. dancing on the sidelines? sorry, but it doesnt bother me really, its refreshing to me

as other pointed out, jordan was worshipped, and from ALL accounts, the guy is a total prick... hardcore degenerate gambler (not sure if its tied, but wasnt his dad murdered for some gambling debt related matters? where theres smoke, theres fire)

kobe on the other hand, reminds me of some rich kids who i went to college with. they were smart, born into wealth, and played college bball, and had this horrid stench of entitlement, douchiness and just overall mean/d*ck headed/narcissistic personalites ...

CousinOfDeath wrote:Ok. Let's just clear some things up. Bulls fans don't believe Lebron is coming to Chicago. We all know that it would be a complete shot in the dark. Nobody expects it, it's not realistic. That said, trying to argue that the Knicks current team+ Chris Bosh is better than the Bulls current team as it stands is asinine. Did you see any Raptors games this year? They were worse, much worse, than the Bulls. They even had the overhyped 7 ft sharpshooter just like the Knicks do. The current Knicks + Bosh would be a worse team than the Bulls. "Fit" doesn't matter. Great players learn how to play with each other, it's as simple as that. Great players can adjust their playing styles in order to make it work. To think that a lesser player like Gallo would be a better option next to Lebron than Derrick Rose is downright stupid.

Rose is not a shoot first player. He is not a ball dominant player. Derrick Rose came into the league trying to pass it to Ben Gordon and Kirk Hinrich and refusing to shoot himself. It progressed into this year, as he continued to differ to amazing players like Hinrich, Luol Deng, John Salmons and Jannero Pargo. He refused to take on the lead scoring role. This went on until Kobe basically told him that he had to take over every game and try to win them by himself. Then, what do you know, Derrick started scoring and the Bulls ripped off a 5 game win streak on their west coast road trip. Rose continued to assert himself as the main scoring option for the rest of the year. Why you may ask? Because he saw that it led a better chance at WINNING, and all he really cares about is WINNING, and he doesn't care how. Derrick Rose would prefer to take 0 shots in a game and get 20 assists than to have to be the main scorer like he did this season. To compare him to players like Marbury, Francis and Iverson is the equivalent of claiming Gallo is comparable to someone like Kyle Korver or Jason Kapono. They shoot 3's, and they're white. Hopefully you guys can understand how ridiculous that is.

Saying the Bulls because of Rose and Noah are better than the Knicks + Bosh is asinine. The Bulls barely made the playoffs. If Bosh didn't get hurt down the stretch the Raptors would have made the playoffs. The current Bulls' team are mediocre at best. While I liked Derrick Rose coming out of college (although I was hoping the Knicks were able to draft OJ Mayo at 6th), he's being completely overrated by Bulls fans. The Knicks also had an all-star. A player who was probably the most skilled/all-around starting C last season. You don't hear about how great he is on this board; that sort of praise is reserved for Gallinari. By the way, I would be very happy if Gallinari could shoot over 50% from the field and from 50% like those two other white 3-point shooters.

I don't care what he thinks. And neither will LeBron.

He's the guy who told Broussard that LeBron should only go to NY if they pay more. Oakley is dead to me.
