I think there is a very slight chance, and someone mentioned it earlier, I think it will take Lin to personally call Dolan and tell him he wants in, and is ready to go to battle for the knicks. If he doesn't he's gone

I have enterd the Bitter Zone and I'm not leaving anytime soon. While I don't want him to tear a ACL or get into a fatal car accident. I would like to see him fail in every imaginalbe way on the basketball court. I want lots of turnovers, missed layups, blown defensive coverage, and for teams to abuse him night in and night out.

Hey, I want my PG to be a workhorse, not eat the horse.

Can't you say the same thing about Lin??

Also Lin is a workhorse? He played 25 games and blew out a knee.

He went from 0 minutes to 45 minutes a night. We were saying in the first week that he was going to get run into the ground. You can't do that to any player and expect their health to hold up.

Did he or did he not play around 25 games and blow out a knee?? No need to make excuses for him that is what happened.

Novak was just as important as lin shooting 47% from 3 and he still sux cause he signed for 4 mil a year

Novak was great...and it's still a damn shame that we're shelling out big $ for him and letting Lin walk. It doesn't have to be a choice between them though...we should have both.

Shump was just as important cause Lin couldnt guard a cold. Calderon and other PGs went right back at him, if it wasnt for shump guarding the best opposing guard, there would be no linsanity but he sux.

Shumpert was good, but please...don't tell me he was "just as important as Lin." That's ridiculous.

We upgrade from davis/bibby to felton/kidd and we still suck

Uh no...we downgraded from Lin/whoever to Felton/Kidd.

pablo priogioni is supposedly one of the best in europe and after watching that huertas dude eat the USA team alive, if pablo is even half as good as he was, i would be happy.

Pablo Priogioni, a 35-year-old rookie...great point there.

camby averages a ton of rebounds per minute and still can control the paint but hey without lin he sux.

Getting a good backup center doesn't mitigate the loss of your starting point guard.

I just do not understand.

Was lin really that amazing in people's minds?

Lin was amazing. Not in "people's minds." On the basketball court.

There is not a shred of an argument to be made that this is an improved roster. We added some severely aging backups. We lost a 23-year-old point guard who was...yes, amazing, last year.

Jeez. take off the myopic glasses. Here are some numbers, ya know facts for your delusions:

1) Feb: Lin 21ppg, 4 reb, 8.4 assists on 47% shooting and 33% 3 pt fg

2) mar: Lin 15ppg, 3 rebs, 6.3 assists on 41% shooting and 33 3pt %

he could not maintain his run. His numbers didnt hold up. nevermind the fact he was averaging 4.4 TOs a game

he was good for a stretch then came back to earth.

you crap on felton and kidd but hey kidd lead a team to the finals 2010-2011.

felton under dantoni was doing rather decently (ya know the same system that lin did well in) averaging 17 and 9.

But whatever your lin colored glasses can only see his rosy greatness.

amare did start out the year badly, but he picked it up later in the year, NUMBERS do not lie. 18, 8 on 56% shooting and taking less shots.

novak is overpaid at 4 mil a year BUT it is OK to give LIN 15 mil a year plus another 30 mil in penalties.

shump was as important. shump and tyson ANCHORED our defense. Shump prevent guards from getting into the lane so teams were forced into 1 on 1s and jumpshots. YOU SIR DO NOT RESPECT DEFENSE.

yeah pablo is 35 but watching the olympics should give you some respect for european players.

getting camby means when tyson comes out our interior defense doesnt suffer. SEE THAT WORD AGAIN DEFENSE.

"offense wins games, DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS"

Lin played no D. Steals are not an indicator of D. watch some games and not highlights

You're missing my point on Lin.

Everyone just about on this board would have been content if Lin got 14/6 with our squad, fully knowing he'd be the third option on offense, and the ball will not always be in his hands.

In houston his usage rate would be off the charts......18 and 7 is not that good on that team.

Why are you belaboring this? The point was that 3 years/$25 million is not a "great player" contract, so if Lin turns out to not be a great player, that doesn't mean he's overpaid. Humphries is not a "great player" and he's making $14 million per. Nothing to debate here.

the point is is I think the team is not matching because they do not think he is a 5 mil 5 mil 15 mil pg.

the Nets signing their own guy is irrelevant, but he does his job consistently.

He averages a double double, and his wages are very consistent with what double double big men make.

Yes Linsanity is better than Portland Fatty, but NY Fatty is right on par with Linsanity. Cant use the DAntoni argument since both had their best production under DAntoni. Instead of complaining about what cant be undone...move forward. If there was asmuch angst between LIN and everyone else then this may make this team more cohesive.

Not even close. Felton went off the rails if you remember -- even playing in the ultimate D'Antoni wet dream (stat and 3 athletic slashers shooting 3's at close to 40%) with a absurd green light (that he abused). Yet towards the end he reverted back to the player he had been his entire career: a bottom tier PG. Which he proved so forcefully in Denver, Portland, and Charlotte. We know the player he is, and it frankly, isn't getting it done. Using a month and a half sample size in a completely different offensive scheme (very similar to portlands, though) and ignoring the history of absolute mediocrity that preceded it, and trash that followed it, run would be unwise.

Lin was 10x the impact player under D'Antoni during his first run of starts in the league, and even under Woodson, he performed at a higher level than Felton ever has outside that month and a half run in NY.

Factor in we're paying Felton, whose thick body type lacks durability, until he's thirty two, while Lin will be be entering his prime, and well, you have one of the worst personnel decision in Knicks history.

So it matters who Lin plays next to, but not Humphries? I don't follow? Rebounds are zero-sum. One less rebound by Brook Lopez is one more for someone else. Lopez is a terrible rebounder, and more often than not, those missed rebounds go to a team mate because they are in better position to grab it then an offensive player.

Not saying Humphries isn't a good player, he is. But his contract is almost twice as big as Lins if you break it down per year. 18 and 7, even in Houston, is worth 8 million a year in this league.

That was my original point though, that this is going to look bad for the Knicks. On that team, especially, Lin is going to put up numbers, at least 18 and 7. Even if it was a smart move, it won't be perceived that way when he's dropping big numbers.

Not Melo fault Lin is not in NY. I'll be damn if I give a Lin a pass. I was a big supporter of Lin but he did some sheisty chit with his agent on upping the ante on that contract
