I'm sure Jeannie and Phil spoke about this prior to L.A. offering Melo the max.

Jeannie: Hun, do the Knicks plan on re-signing Melo?

Phil: Eh...

Seriously, is Melo to LA actually a realistic scenario?
Make the Knicks great again!

Yea, they're only going off all the same reports we've seen. Nothing new.

Come on man.. anybody to LA has always been a realistic scenario. Have you ever spent time there?

There's no reason why it shouldn't be. Sure, we could justify him returning for certain reasons, just like Bulls fans believe he should go there, just like LA fans believe he should go there. We could all draw up reasons for all of them to be realistic scenarios.

If they are offering him a contract, it has to be taken seriously.

If he wants $22m?

Melo + Bryant + Nash = $55m+ of a $63.2m cap.

$8m for 9 other players is tough to pull off.

Also, that isn't breaking news. Did anyone in the world actually think he wasn't considering every team he spoke to? Other than Dallas, perhaps. Of course he's considering LA.

Yeaaaah but we got next.

Chances are really good that none of the three franchises (LA,NYK, CHi) will win one in the next decade.

Very negative.

7 mil for Pau, 3 approx with the room exception, randles hold, and mins all around just like last year isn't hard to do in la. They wouldn't even touch the tax line which means they get a mle and bae next year too

The Lakers offered the money, if Melo says yes, they arent gonna retract it....it's literally the only selling point they have as a team at the moment.

Phil's great but he isnt a miracle healer. Pau missed nearly half the year and Nash missed around 30 games.

even nash backup missed as much as he did.

Who knows if they get injured playing in a different system.

Just to make the playoffs in the West, the Lakers would need Kobe healthy for the basically the entire season. And if they make the playoffs how much would he even have left in the tank?

LA can be a very intoxicating place.. even if you're actually a native New Yorker.

The system didnt get them hurt.

Pau has bad feet and Nash is old.

Especially since Nash is basically toast. Hes said already that he knows hes at the end and likely wont be able to contribute much with the Lakers.
