This has to be BS, there is no way this amazing FO can think this is a good idea, even if you get Westbrook for free it's a terrible move. If they handed over assets to take him it still is a very bad fit....I won't believe this is a real possibility and in my mind I see it as media spin, say Knicks for clicks!

This is a good question. So if NYK takes Westbrook for nothing, what does Houston gain? Are they still significantly over the cap or can they at least get an Ibaka or somebody in free agency?

they would get under but the knicks aren't giving the rockets a 40 million dollar TPE that would be insanity. They would at least be taking randle...plus other pieces maybe DSJ.

Westbrook is already is starting to decline. A lot of players decline fast in their 30’s….ESPECIALLY PGs that rely heavily on athletiscm. We have seen this countless times on the Knicks. Marbury, Francis, Felton, etc, etc. Even Melo declined real fast.

Then throw in Thibs as the coach, pressure in NY and horrible spacing? There might not be a worse player we could bring in. Not sure how anyone can see this as anything but a horrible idea. Fire everyone and start over if they want to do this.

let's say he stays healthy and can produce like this for the next few years, my question is what is the plan after you get him ? that huge contract makes it impossible to sign anyone to play with him. so it's just gonna be the russ show for 3 years ? or trade away almost everything else to get him a partner ?

exactly we would be in a worse situation we were than with Melo. In fact the only other option would be trading for another mediocre star.

The man couldn't win with KD or Harden...so he's going to win with a second fiddle star.

Unfortunately, unlike Mets fans who despised the Wilpons, there are still a segment of Dolan loyalists.

He's actually already done something - fired the entire front office and installed the very respected, knowledgeable and successful Sandy Alderson back as President. They will fill out that front office with smart, qualified baseball people and ownership will let them do their job.

As opposed to the old Mets/current Knicks which have a history of hiring ownership sycophants, friends and relatives over more qualified individuals and have ownership groups that consistently ruin anything remotely good.

off the rails...he is the single worst contract in the game.

Like it matters capspace wasn’t going to be used on anybody worth a damn and if we getting assets in return then I don’t see the issue

if westbrook was even 2 years I would say maaaybe....he is going to be 35 yrs old in this 3rd year making nearly $50 million dollars. There is no other way to describe that other than insanity.

ANd then in 2 years when we find out we can land a star we will have this albatross unmovable on our hands and can't move it.

I get you guys worries though but I do have faith In our new front office but at that point we’d be in a situation where we’d have to make win now moves but the only thing is we’d have all our assets so we would be assed out like we’ve been in the past. It’s just funny though cause we are all talking like it’s inevitable
