This is another curse of being a Knicks fan. Randle wins one series and plays well and melo doing victory lap after victory lap. Meanwhile KAT hit a game winning 3 that was miraculous lol. Actually 2 ... but who's counting?

I really don't think KAT is to blame for our offense but I will admit that it's curious that he never seems to find a fixed place in the offense.

The deal with the Knicks is everything is skewed, the bar is completely different, the team doesn't do certain basic things, etc.

The sad part about it, it is the fact that many Knicks fans were saying put Julius in the post, because we saw that the opposing defender wouldn't be strong enough to defend him, and it would automatically collapse their defense by forcing them to double-team and it would leave a Knicks player with an open 3 pointer.

The current head coach of the New York Knicks didn't figure out this simple fix until Julius' last season with the team.

I mean Randle has been kicking it out of double teams for the past couple of years to open shooters. That’s been his game for a min. It just looked a lot better last year when we got rid of rj who was terrible playing off the ball. If there’s one thing Thibs unlocked with Randle, it was definitely that.

The Celtics have Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown on supermax contracts, while Derick White, Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis are each on expensive contracts of their own.

"They have five players right now scheduled to make $28 million or more next season. That's a league record. They would have a salary bill of $500 million. I think the Celtics knew when they traded for Jrue Holiday and they traded for Kristaps Porzingis, they'd be staring at this in the face this summer.

"But none of these changes are the top of mind for the Celtics now. This is obviously the most talented team in the league. I think a lot of people would agree with that. So these are good problems to have, but the league is bracing for some level of change to come to this Celtics roster in the offseason."

Randle overall has had the better series over there. He really didn't have a single off game and played some impressive defense as well. KAT has had two completely awful games here.

However---coming back to coaching---KAT is not being used properly. KAT has an advantage over Harris and Duren IN THE POST....you need to put him there repeatedly and let him post and post and post...super generic and methodical but it will be effective. Thibs has him in the Randle role and KAT simply can't fulfill that role. The Wolves are putting Randle in a position to succeed and he is doing it and he will keep doing it because most of what he is doing is repeatable. He is also shooting almost exclusively open to wide open 3s. Like 80% of his baskets are layups mixed with a couple short jumpers. Nothing crazy...no fluke deep shooting run. Left handed layups and a couple 10 foot jumpers here and there.
Thibs is not putting KAT in a position to succeed so I'm trying to refrain from judging him too much. This is one of the reasons I was so negative about the game 4 win. Leaving the no-call aside...relying on KAT to hit those super tough shots...that stuff is not repeatable. The Knicks offense is not creating any easy oppoertunities and we really haven't seen any adjustments for months now.
