Not putting this on DJ. Doesn't seem like he wants to not honor his commitment.
Any word from the Mavs or Silver?

Yea, but CP3 and Doc are doing the right thing in trying to make him come back. It would make them top 3 contender status with Dendre. Ethical or not, if it was the Knicks, I would hope they do the same thing.

My opinion is no. This will never be something that matters to the league. You need a signed contract.
Also by the way, contract law almost always requires a signed contract for anything over a small amount of money. I'd say Jordan is making more than a small amount of money. Not sure about that billion-dollar oil deal -- that sounds like some very unusual exception that I'd have to look at.
But it's moot. The CBA reigns supreme over anything else. This is a special area of law -- collective bargaining agreements. The CBA will be the only recourse Cuban has and I think he has zilcho.
Don't worry, RoLo will probably honor his commitment either way.
It's not just RoLo. Derrick Williams met with them. Kyle O'Quinn looks to be one of the better options available. This could really blow up.

I can't see DJ really taking this seriously or any of this speculation coming from the DJ camp

The NBA doesn't set contract law. It depends on the laws in the state of Texas, and what evidence is available. Unless, the NBA has rules that specifically disallow agreements during this period from being enforced.
The NBA absolutely sets contract law when it comes to their contracts. That's what the CBA is for. It nullifies and replaces any other type of contract law. The CBA reigns supreme here. Could Cuban challenge it in court? Sure. You can always try that. The court will say it's up to the NBA.
And even though Cuban's ego would go in that direction, would he want to go to court? Imagine Jordan showing up to court after being forced to the Mavs?

CP3 and co. should have shown up to the first meeting if they cared that much

The endgame wouldn't be Jordan going reluctantly to Dallas, it'd be Dallas getting compensation from LA.
