Former Laker and Celtic Tony Gaffney is claiming on his facebook that Carmelo Anthony wants to go to the Lakers and that the rumored deal would revolve around Lamar Odom and picks. Gaffney who is currently playing in Turkey is saying that he has “plenty” of sources.

remember that one article from the espn blog that cited a anonymous player, he too said the dark horse team for melo was LAL

so Im sure there is something to it, although not a guarantee obviously

i remember that espn piece mentioned the timing to be in the summer...so it could be that LAL sees how it matches up with MIA and how they do, and adjust personnel if they arent up to par next OS.

The lakers, like the magic, don't have the assets to beat a Knicks offer. If either team thought they had a shot at melo, why did they trade their 2011 first round picks? I guess we can't beat an odom, 2013 and 2015 first round pick or a Richardson, 2013 and 2015 first round picks. Lol.

And the Lakers are not going to chop up a CHAMPIONSHIP team. I can see it like when Kobe takes less money they start to make moves but not now.

The Nets have continued talks with the Portland Trail Blazers and Denver Nuggets about the possibility of adding Miller in a multiteam trade that would land them Anthony, league sources told Yahoo! Sports. Anthony and Miller were teammates in Denver from 2003-06 and played well together. While reuniting with Miller would be attractive to Anthony, sources continue to insist the Nets would likely need to acquire an additional quality player for Anthony to seriously consider committing to a contract extension with the franchise.

Hmm Andre Miller or Amare? Besides I think the Blazers would rather get Wallace and Augustin for Miller and Camby. The Nets are super desperate.

Not to mention Felton. The notion that Andre Miller is a big draw for Carmelo is ludicrous. Yeah, a 35-year-old pg averaging 13/7 is a big deal. Forget the 26-year-old point guard we've got averaging 18/9.

This is just my opinion, but this Melo and Miller idea is proof to me that all of these stories are coming out of NJ. Miller and Melo didn't get along that great when they played on the Nuggets together. They were always barking at each other, Miller upset Melo so much in one game that Melo checked out of the game and refused to go back in and every time that there was a break in the action during that game they continued to go at each other.

guys we have to keep trash talking down a little on the melo boards. i remember last year we used to talk alot of trash to the cavs fan about them loosing lebron and look how it blew up in your faces. let just wait this out and see what happens. we dont want to look like a joke once again.

Cavs fans use to insist that they had a better team minus LeBron than anything we could put out around him. That is where most of the trash talking came from, at least that's when i would engage in it. It's pretty obvious how wrong they were. The Nets may or may not get Melo, but if they do, it sure as hell aint because they have a "future" with Andre Miller.
