I simply don't believe Chandler will be included in a deal. You can't get much value for an RFA. It is difficult. Teams tend to perceive them as nothing but expiring contracts.

I think in the end hes going to get traded to the knicks sometime in the upcoming weeks, The trade is going to be around Gallo and some other pieces. Denver isent going to give up their Superstar just so they can get a large trade exception.
And Denver knows he would come here via free agency anyway, What would be the point of not trading him here? Denver's GM Isent going to let him go to Free Agency rather then trade him to us just because he wants to spite us, how does that help his image or their team at all?
Hes going to be a Knick people, No way he becomes a Net he knows he will never do anything with the Nets. The Garden and a chance to play for a NBA Championship is calling to him. If we get him and a somewhat legit center for the MLE we have a Championship contending team.
I also keep hearing how much better chandler is than the rest of the knicks, yet the only players traded are gallo and or fields to some extent..
Really? so denver is going to ask for the lesser talent? and if they ask for chandler, we are goingto say no? people are letting their emotions rule here and are trying to have it both ways...
only reason I think Chandler is the last to get traded is because I think Denver does want talent back not just cap savings. And while Chandler is good imo, Gallo and Fields allows them another year at a lower pay rate and more time t o asses and make moves if need be. You lock Chandler in to a contract and it could really limit their flexibility. If they really like him though maybe they do ask for him its possible. I think they would get Mayo in a trade that includes Memphis though because apparently they arent really crazy about NYs peices. Curry and Ronny give them savings. If they want AR they take him, if not we flip him for a pick to satisfy them.

Re: [Camelo Thread Part 9] - NJ/DET/DEN Deal on Hold
Yahoo's Wojnarowski:
As happened with LeBron James’(notes) inner-circle last summer, there’s a growing tension within Anthony’s camp over the agendas of the agents. Rose and Wesley – the famous Worldwide Wes – have pushed for the Nuggets to make a deal with the Nets. Wesley is a close associate of Nets minority owner, Jay-Z, and everyone believes he wants a further entrée into the lair of Russian billionaire owner Mikhail Prokhorov. Within the league, they all get it: Wes wants access to Prokhorov’s empire, wants to get the coaches he reps hired in Jersey and get full access to the franchise.
After they deliver New Orleans’ Chris Paul(notes) to the Nets – which could be impossible with Richard Hamilton’s(notes) contract clogging the salary cap – Wesley will have what he wants: a franchise to call his own. CAA is selling itself as the powerhouse agency that’ll package you with the stars, but that’s easy in free agency. How’s it worked for Anthony and Paul? How’s CAA helped their images? How have they muscled teams into doing deals for them?
Rose is ultimately indebted to Wesley as the recruiting muscle of his agency, but has a unique affinity and loyalty to Hamilton. Hamilton is one of his longest-standing clients, and Rose wants badly to pull Hamilton away from the rebuilding Pistons and partner him with Anthony and Chauncey Billups(notes) in New Jersey. Rose – not anyone else – constructed the idea to send Hamilton to the Nets. How this all benefits Anthony remains a mystery.
Yes, it gets Anthony his $65 million now. It makes him the centerpiece of the 2012 move into Brooklyn and all. Yet, Anthony keeps hearing Ujiri and his agents tell him: The Knicks don’t have a deal for you. The Knicks aren’t trying that hard (which isn’t true). Anthony watched all his free-agent buddies get everything they wanted over the summer – LeBron and Dwyane Wade(notes), Chris Bosh(notes) and Amar’e Stoudemire(notes) – and wonders: Why do I have to settle? Why do I have to become the bad guy this season?
“There are so many different agendas at play in this deal,” one league official said. “But there’s no question: Leon and Wes want [the Nets] – even if it’s for different reasons.”
In every way, Anthony is a pawn in a bigger game. He’ll be blamed as the reason basketball seasons in Denver and New Jersey have collapsed under the weight of his trade talks. Only, he has no choice. This is his free agency now, and he’s trapped from above with the agendas of David Stern and Stan Kroenke, and those below with Leon Rose and Worldwide Wes. In the end, they’ll get everything they want out of this lost season.
And ‘Melo, he’ll probably end up in Jersey.

Will be very interesting to see what comes of that.

Something along the lines of what u were thinking. I wouldn't mind it. Throw in the a first round pick to denver from minnesota. Think it could get done.

2007: $4,694,041

2010: $15,779,912
2011: $17,149,243
That's how much money the Denver Nuggets have paid Carmelo Anthony: about $75.5 million. I found this information on the Internet, so it has to be true. Including endorsements, the 26-year-old Carmelo has easily passed the $100 million mark. His contract also allows a "player option" for next season worth $18,518,575 million. Guaranteed. This is not someone who should be making crucial career decisions based on money.
And yet, by accepting a long-rumored trade to New Jersey, he would be crapping on his legacy for a few extra bucks. It wouldn't be a normal crap, either; more like one of those "Dumb and Dumber" poops in which he nearly got blown off the bowl. After four months of behind-the-scenes posturing to become a Knick -- at the expense of Denver's season and his eight-year relationship with Nuggets fans, no less -- how could Anthony possibly settle for a 10-28 team in Jersey? Because it's near New York? Because it's almost like playing for the Knicks? Because they're moving to Brooklyn in two years? Because Jay-Z owns 1 percent more of the Nets than my dog does?
Alright....this Bill Simmons guy is starting to grow on me

Honestly i can live with either situation. We get Melo I think his superstar status helps us in alot of situations. Getting to the line and getting superstar calls really helps teams win games especially down the stretch late in games. If we dont get him, hey like you said I like Gallo, Will, and Fields, and i pray that AR can become a servicable peice too. we keep those guys together and let them play without the threat of feeling like we could be traded at any minute and they may mature and become an even better team than what we see today. Add a center and we may be a detriot (when they won it all) like underdog contender team.

I'm on the fence too, but I don't think Walsh will gut this team. Walsh is shown he is all about building teams not tearing them down. Just a gut feeling Fields is a keeper and I suspect that Gallo is as well.

with the new CBA the NBA owners and Stern have to make sure that losers like Leon Rose and Wes can't influence the formation of an entire roster which absolutely corrupts the league.

Couldn't agree more. Rose and Wesley probably figure this is their last big payday before a new collective bargaining agreement.

Well that would be the beauty of it. Mayo's value is at an all time low. Meanwhile we are growing assets by the week. AR, SW (who I want to keep), skywalker..... Kelena's expiring/80% insured contract . We have a ton of flexibility.

I truthfully think you feel this way cause your boy Gallo will be gone. the same Gallo that regressed this season IMO. Mello is a top 10 talent. You just can't pass up on that.
