I don't know how I ended up posting the general board thread, was wondering why so many non Knick fans were suddenly posting....

All these tweets/articles just sound like spinning wheels to me.

Nothing will happen until next week, and we probably won't even know the details of what's going on RIGHT NOW until after the deal is done.

He wants all his money and I don't Blame him. Ny has the highest taxes in the country. He wants The knicks but if he can go to nj, they will be in Bklyn soon anyway. His wife would be happy and he will have his money

Tommy Dee:

It’s pretty simple from my end. Everything I’ve heard thus far is to say that Melo will not be extending. Unfortunately, our video upload system is dragging so I can’t show you my conversation with Chris Dempsey of the Denver Post who knows Melo as well as anyone. His words:

Melo won’t extend in New Jersey.

I’ve heard that a few times today. More as the situation develops.

We are not BallBoys, we are just stating the truth. Yall need to take off yall knick rose colored glasses and realize that it will be devastating if Knicks blow this.

What you have to realize is that there is no way the Knicks can blow this... we have done everything perfectly.... given the situation and the Denver FO

There never has been a deal for the Knicks that Denver would make....

Now... after the Melocision on or about Monday.... we will have the best deal possible. OR
a FA Melo in the summer....which is better than the best deal possible....

This whole thing is just stupid really. The Nets are embarrassing themselves - they either get humiliated again, or they bet everything on one player. They are a joke.

I can't wait for this to end.

How can you not close the deal during the break?

You've got a player that doesn't want to be in Denver, the locker room is suffering as a result, and he's taking what amounts to free-agency meetings with the Knicks and perhaps the Nets.

You can't bring him back to Denver after this!
Amare Stoudamire - check

Chris Paul - on deck

THE KNICKS - WE'RE THE EFFIN' BEST!!!!!!!

Carmelo's meeting with the Knicks is set for this afternoon, according to a source.

WHAT?!

Knicks have a meeting but not Nets. This is so stupid.

I would caution that this guy is the same one who said that Melo was on board with trade to the Nets.

So the quality of his reporting is suspect.

A playoff team with 4 key players under 25 years old and cap flexibility going forward. Now if that's not a reason to kill yourself out of desperation then what is...

A playoff team with no shot at advancing. Heck they are another 5 game losing streak from being out the playoffs all together. Knicks are doomed without him

Dempsey, Tomason and sometimes Hochman.
The first two in particular have been as spot on with all this as anyone.

Devastating? Nah. Knick fans will still have young developing pieces ( Gallo/Fields) and a legit PG that complement their star player + cap space galore the next 2 years to continue the process.

Thanks for playing.

You need multiple stars to win in the NBA, not just one star and a bunch of middle of the pack type guys.

Oh and...

#Cavs thought they were close to 3-way deal w/NJ & Den previously. Den pulled out, per source, b/c it wanted all draft picks to themselves

Jason Lloyd is the Cavs beat writer.

Carmelo's meeting with the Knicks is set for this afternoon, according to a source.

Melo about to tell Dolan...

"Don't worry my man...give me until Monday after the ASG and i'll shoot down NJ, Oh and btw tell Walsh i'd like number 11, see you guys soon!"

Melo won't meet with the Knicks -- Seriously can someone tell me why Denver would permit Carmelo Anthony to talk to the Knicks?

I've yet to hear a good explanation.

Simple. Denver tells Melo that he can meet the Nets FO. Now if they denied him to talk with Knicks FO then it's obvious they do not care for Melo's agenda at all. This could anger him causing the Denver FO to think he will refuse to help in Net negotiations and refuse to even think about their extension.

If they grant Nets permission then they have to grant the Knicks.
