but this is a stars league, you wont see many coaches playing hardball with stars

Exactly. Westphal f'd with Demarcus Cousins (who's barely even a star) and got axed. Kuester messed with rip/t-mac/stuckey and got axed. It's a players' league. Unless you have a smart, loyal ownership like the spurs, they always side with the players. It's not right but it is what it is.

Gallo was the player of the game though, refs treated him like a superstar tonite with 18 free throws.

This has to be enough to get D'antoni fired.

knicks are dumb, they are stupid and they foul everyone... gallo did this when he was with the knicks.. too bad, he was never given a larger role in the offense...

moron coach

moron owner

moron players...

This game was hilarious... again... this is why you don't make such trades, for guys like melo.. News flash.. HE AINT THAT GOOD YALL....

You gotta be kidding.

Amazing you didn't mention the disappearing act of Stat in the offense.

What did he do in the fourth or the OT's? Nothing.

Shump took almost twice as many shots as Stat too.

Melo had a bad game, and he still wound up being the best player on the Knicks tonite.

someone should tell Melo that no one is confident around him. That's the real issue, to be quite honest. D'Antoni won't. Dolan doesn't care. Tyson might be able to, but you gotta keep it 100 with him. Maybe a younger Bobby Knight could have, but he'd probably throw a chair and destroy Melo's face :(

Here's an idea that's essentially what we roll with until we plummet in the 4th.

Forget this obligation to play our stars in the starting line up.

Start the Melo-centric lineup:

Tyson
Jorts
Melo
Douglas
Bibby

Roll with the Amare-centric lineup off the bench:

Jeffries
Amare
Fields
Walker
Shumpert

Whichever lineup is more effective gets crunch time minutes. (Of course some players will be interchangeable because we can't reasonably expect to play 10 guys every game and expect results).

I do like to say one thing. Stop the booing. Im not even a knicks fan and that made me upset. Yelling pass pass. Thats not helping ya guys at all. Would you want someone doing that to you while you're playing. I understand frustrating, but dont make things even more complicated

Good game, I guess

Denver's coaching was very questionable. Karl gave no minutes for Fernandez tonight. He hasn't played Faried but about 10 minutes all season, and that kid can start for some teams IMO. He didn't play Birdman or Koufos, either.

George Karl was lucky to win tonight, IMO.

I am neutral and don't want to upset Knick fans, but I don't like that trade for NY at all.

fernandez is out with achilles. faried is a rookie. afflalo also out. karl loves fernandez.

They have to work. For better or worse, the Knicks have little to no choice otherwise. And they aren't going to win without these two (regardless of how nice the rest of the team might look in spots when they aren't on the floor). So the focus needs to be figuring out how do you win with these 2 guys. Everyone else is expendable to make it happen.

skiles? didnt CHI let him go?
thibs has 0 offense creativity and only one star to deal with, he has no experience yet dealing with 2 stars who cant mix and are having issues
doc rivers? great coach, but if I recall, Rondo has been acting like a B.... multiple times in their run
popovich...none of his stars are really marketed, no1 cares about that team, their finals got the lowest rating ever, much different when on the big media market
hollins? ok i'll give you that one, mayo isnt starting anymore

He can talk all he wants. If Melo wants to iso, Melo is going to iso.

There was a play where Melo had the ball and Amare was in post position expecting a pass but Melo told him to move and missed a jumper going one on one. But a good coach won't put up with this B.S. and would bench Melo be in his ear about it. But regardless we would have won if we didn't switch on defense, but that's D'antoni for you.

If Melo's wrist is bothering him to the point where it affects his jumper, then he shouldn't be shooting so many jumpers.

Kobe got him fired if people already forgot. After missing the playoffs completely one season without Phil, Kobe begged him to come back.

We have a bad team, thats it, these players are not good, good players= win, bad players= lose, just go down the list, couple of good player, rest of roster stinks, you're not going to win, dont care if Phil Jackson is coaching.

Poor Walker. best game of the year for him, and barely plays in the 4th, and gets nothing in the overtimes
