Last time I spent this much time on Realgm refreshing threads was the Melo trade.
The Lebron 2010 FA was the time before that.

WHY did Knicks try to drag out receiving the offer-sheet, do they really need to think about this for the max amount of hours?

To think that Jeremy Lin a free agent is going to go to Morey and strong arm him to give him that contract with the poison pill on the information that the Knicks had just let the the cat out of the bag to him that they were going to match when everyone and their grandmother knew they were going to match any contract weeks ago is just beyond stupid... how can anyone believe that stuff?

There is only one person to blame for that offer sheet Lin signed and that's Morey.

"Who is Robert Montgomery? Lin's agent is Roger Montgomery.
Really famous actor in the 30s and 40s (he starred opposite Garbo) and father of "Bewitched" star Elizabeth Montgomery.

That's not true. Lin is at fault here too. He went back to Vegas and signed a contract to get the maximum money knowing what it would do to the knicks.

FWIW Ian Begley and Marc Berman are now following @TheNBA_Insider, I'm guessing just on the outside chance he's real.

Re: Jeremy Lin's Contract Saga: Part VII
“This offense is guard-oriented,” said Rockets forward Josh Harrellson, Lin’s teammate with the Knicks. “He’s going to have the ball the majority of the time. If you look at our roster, he’s going to be our superstar. In NewYork, you can’t say the same. Hopefully, he can come here, the offense can run through him, and he can make all the decisions for us.
“As you can see, we don’t have a point guard right now. Right now, it’s instant minutes for him. For a kid that wants to play basketball and be part of a team and make it successful, hopefully he can come and do that for us.”

What was he supposed to say... No? I'm fine with the first offer sheet that I read about on twitter.
Nobody even knows if that initial offer sheet was real..

I can't believe I've posted on every single Lin thread from Parts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. I was there after each one was upgraded as well.

Yeah I think you're right. If it's good news, it'll come earlier. Or at least reports of communication between the two parties.
