All these 'sources' and pathetic excuses for articles are just the media's way of trying to paint Melo as a villain. This appeals to the broad audience of circa February 2012 bandwagon fans who wanted the Knicks to blow up the franchise and build around him.
Do you realize a large majority of true Knicks fans either don't care, got over, or are glad Jeremy Lin left? The only people who care are the bandwagoners who could give two **** about Knicks pride. Whats halarious in all of this is that these are the SAME 'fans' who wanted the Knicks to not match the offer because Woodson's offensive schemes and Carmelo's game would be detrimental to Lin's growth. Hell they even threw a hissy fit when the Knicks targeted Steve Nash in free agency. STEVE NASH.
It's not good enough that Lin left, they also have to drag Melo's name through the mud in the process. Meanwhile this guy is busting his tail representing our country in the grandest stage of athletics while Lin didn't even have the courtesy to accept team USA's invitation to play on the practice squad because he didn't have his fat contract first.
38 yo soon to be 39 yo! Signing Nash would give Knicks a 2 years window at best. You'd think he's gonna play well at 42, 43? Lin is 23 and has about 10-12 years window. All of you saying Lin can't defend (when he stripped ball more than any PG I know), you want Nash of all PGs who can't defend to replace him? Nash couldn't defend at 30 years old when he won MVP, and only got worse today.
You're going to choose a 2 year window over 10-12 years window for Knicks?
I am a Knicks fan, I hope Felton does well for us. But wanting a 38yo Nash, Felton/Kidd, over Lin was crazy on owner/ management/ delusional fans' part, because Lin could be a superstar. Those who said Lin's a fluke point to the 1 frickin Heat game, when I can point out LeBron, Carmelo in their rookie years had like 4-7 single digit points games, Kobe averaged only 7.6 ppg, Deron in his rookie year was a role player, Steve Nash in his first 5 years did not come NOWHERE NEAR Lin in terms production/ impact on his teams... laidback Phoenix and Dallas fans butchered him, saying he was a bust, imagine if Nash had played in New York (which Lin had to face). His confidence would crash like Darko's and he'd never ever recover.
