Salary-wise, we're still in that 3 year window of expirings.

Come on that Lowry-Felton backcourt is the stuff Bobby Hurley's are made of.

If there is anyway the Knicks can acquire Terry Dehere for like a 2nd rounder that would be the shizzz.

What about this ?
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=acvdvdt
Orlando wants to Move Reddick, cause his contract is ower after the season, and the Knicks could use another scoring option,Reddick doesn't need ball in his hands all the time, like JR,and we already have guys that can make their own shoot, and he is great defender aswell,he would be a nightmare in the PO's in this team with his running behind the screens. And he is getting better every year, every team knows that they must stop his 3's and yet they still fail to do so.Ish Smith is a young PG,that can penetrete, and with Reddick here Steve Novak would not be necessary.

Would also trade this,if they want expiring contracts:
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=aqxg7c4
And with two roster spots left would bring in Kenyon Martin and maybe Douglas-Roberts ?

With Bos possibly having a potential firesale, we should try and get Courtney Lee, he can defend and shoot a little.

Someone who can spare Melo some mins, we have too many one dimensional win players in Novak, Cope and White just sucks. Maybe Cope and/or a 2nd rounder...

Lee would be a good fit but he"d be tough to get. Even if we had enough in expirings to get him (I don't think we do), Boston would probably want some kind of asset.

Just get some guys who are more efficient at three point shooting and can defend someone. That is all I want for Christmas.

Felton, JR, Shump and Kidd are all here to stay. The only place where we can upgrade defensively is backup PG. And that's why we should try to trade for Sebastian "Chris Childs 2.0" Telfair.

I was just thinking about trading for Redick. But I doubt Orlando would be interested in taking on Novak's 4 year deal.

Here is my feeble attempt at a trade that may help every team get better if that's even possible...

NY - LAL - MEM
http://basketball.realgm.com/tradecheck ... de/6218786

NY Trades: Iman Shumpert, Amare Stoudemire, Chris Copeland, Steve Novak and Ronnie Brewer
NY Receives: Metta World Peace, Rudy Gay, Darrel Arthur

Starters: Felton, Gay, Metta, Melo, Tyson
Bench: Kidd, JR, Prigs, Arthur, Camby, Kurt

Mem Trades: Rudy Gay, Darrel Arthur
Mem Receives: Iman Shumpert, Chris Copeland and Pau Gasol

Starters: Mike Conley, Tony Allen, Iman Shumpert, Zach Randolph, M. Gasol
Bench: Bayless, P. Gasol, Copeland, Wroten, Chris Johnson

LAL Trades: Pau Gasol, Metta World Peace
LAL Receives: Amare Stoudemire, Steve Novak, Ronnie Brewer

Starters: Steve Nash, Kobe Bryant, Ronnie Brewer, Amare Stoudemire, Dwight Howard
Bench: Duhon, E. Clark, Meeks, Novak, Jamison

It seems to help all teams involved...

I would give up any combination of picks, Felton, Novak, KT, Brewer, Copleland , White and Camby for Lowry. Would even agree to take back Fields.

:nonono: @ wanting to send iman to the grizzlies.

iman on the grizzlies would make life hell twice a year for the knicks when it comes to scoring against that defense.

at least these ideas are better than what TKF posted on ultimateknicks:

Melo for Rondo in a purported three-way deal:

Now would anyone in their right mind do this deal?

Apparently, Memphis and Toronto are looking to take on Calderon on a three team trade. We can probably ship Felton/JR/KT or some sort of a package for Calderon. It would immensely improve our shooting and ball movement. The way Felton played on defense, it wouldn't be a huge downgrade on defense.

Get it done Grunnie.

This trade gets us Calderon without giving up Felton: http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=bb6ukvu

But I dunno... Calderon can't penetrate like Felton so I'm not sure it would do much for our ball movement. I feel like we can improve our outside shooting without sacrificing defense. And Calderon is pretty redundant with Kidd.

I am not sure the defense will be sacrificed that much. Opponent PGs have been torturing us anyways. It is not like our guards are playing great defense.

What is lacking is consistent shooting on this team. Since the hot start, Felton/JR came back to earth to their regular career averages. Shump was pretty erratic last year as well but he was a rookie so we never know. Kidd is the only reliable three point shooter from guard position. This is besides the fact that Calderon is a high assist low turnover guy which fits well with our current gameplan.

Felton and JR's low shooting is the result of poor shot selection. I'm not sure their % on spot up 3's has fallen too dramatically. And so far Shump has looked like he can knock down those open 3's.

Agree about JR. Disagree about Felton. Felton is actually shooting a better three point percentage than his career average. He has always been an erratic three point shooter.

JR is a better shooter than what he showed this year. The main problem is this crazy idea that "he can create for himself thus he should". This is totally wrong. He is a fine catch and shoot player. Horrible off the dribble. It is better to keep him strictly off the ball.

I like this one better: http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=agzrwdn

Calderon goes to Boston and we get Courtney Lee and Jet.

Honestly tho, none of this is realistic at all. Knicks are not going to trade away JR and Novak... we already have enough chemistry issues with all the injuries. It's gonna have to be non-rotation expirings for an 8th/9th man type of guy.
