If anything, we should be getting picks from TOR for eating Bargs contract.

Not laughing at us, I actually posted over there to truly ask from their opinion.

They just happy this deal is true and they get draft picks.

This trade is dumb even if the draft picks werent involved.

Orlando owns our 2014 1st from Denver in the Melo deal. It would be our 2016 1st.

The picks are what win the Raptors this deal. However, I truly believe that Bargnani can perform well and I'm optimistically saying this. Under a new system and with Chandler playing inside, I think Bargnani can be valuable to your team. The contract is not good but it all depends on how well Bargnani plays IF he chooses to play well and this deal gets done.

Raptors fans have spent seasons and offseasons hearing about Bargnani, some summers spent in Italy just chillin and some working on his game and playing for his national team. This season he seems to be poised to make a comeback and he has been updating his twitter more and more about his basketball life recently so maybe Bargnani may play better. Or it could be the same old story.

we shall see when the dust settles what this trade really involves

look, bargs is the former #1 overall pick
the guy has talent

its a question of his health, effort and the cost

for Novak and Camby? Good deal.
add a 2nd, ok. fine

add a 1st rounder and its highly suspect

Have Toronto send US a future first, and this trade might be palatable.

Another thing about this trade it's perfect for the italian Knicks fans who were big Gallanari supporters, now they have a new italian Stallion to root for.

If you're referring to the 2014 draft, the Knicks already traded it to Denver.

Bargnani only has two years left. We get out of Novak's last year. Only contracts on the roster for the summer of 2015 now are Felton's player option (likely to opt out), Shumpert's qualifying offer, and Tim Hardaway Jr's 3rd year (a non-guaranteed team option). With this trade, we are on route to have the full amount of cap room available. Hopefully we stay on this route.

In regards to Bargnani, we desperately needed a legitimate stretch 4/5 to play alongside Melo and some insurance for Amar'e. There was no way we were going to land Ersan Illyasova or Ryan Anderson, and Earl Clark is not likely a available for the MMLE. 2 seasons ago, Bargnani was by far more talented than those guys.

Grunnie is taking a gamble on Bargnani giving up a 1st round pick. Considering the skillset, age, and that he only has two years left, this move may be worth the gamble. Grunnie is buying low, in hopes that playing on a championship contender alongside elite talents such as Amar'e, Melo, and Tyson will bring out the best of him (his game compliments all three of them). Bargnani goes from being expected to be the franchise player in Toronto to being the 4th or 5th best player on the Knicks.

The Knicks could use a power forward to help stretch the floor for Carmelo Anthony and Bargnani had a career-low 1.7 shot attempts per game at the rim of his 12.1 overall attempts last season.

Novak and Camby aren't doing ish for this team. And Novak's contract is a yr longer than when we'd like to blow it up and restart, correct? Bargs' contract ends with the rest of the lot in 2 yrs.

The pick would be annoying.. but I don't doubt Bargnani would contribute more than those 2 guys over the next 2 years while we're in this mode.
