Was kind of expecting a starting lineup of Shump, Wear, Cleanthony, Melo, and Aldrich tonight. Why? 'Cause fu*k it, that's why. Every other day our whole rotation switch...shout out to Cappadonna.

melo just doesn't have that personality. i think calderon will be the leader when he's back. he's always involved in some kind of intense discussion with melo on the bench while we're sucking.

All I want is a consistent starting lineup. The rotation can change but the starting five needs to be set until a bench player supplants the incumbent starter. Swapping out mediocre players for other mediocre players in a starting lineup does nothing for me.

Team meetings are overrated. Word to Doc Rivers.

A team meeting to discuss what?

We lose because we have less talent than the other team. Not because everyone keeps their feelings inside.

I know. I never really expect that from him. I would think that if he had a bigger role on the team that "the man who shall go nameless for fear of starting a string of head explosions" would call one. I agree about Jose. But really, if you THE star on the team, you bear some responsibility. No?

On resting Amar'e Stoudemire tonight, Derek Fisher says "we hope that it gives us an opportunity to have him 70-plus nights."

wouldn't it have made more sense to rest him on one of the 300 back to backs we have ? i swear i don't understand a thing he does

Still nothing is as impossible to understand as switching.

actually i understood the switching more. the philosophy behind switching is is simply that it would be better to be caught in a mismatch then give up an open shot. while the results weren't great, at least there was a philosophy. i have no idea what the f*ck fisher is thinking about.

You miss Woody. That's how bad we are.

No need. I don't think Melo is a leader. Don't really think he's that type.

At the same time though, a team meeting to talk about how nobody can defend and only a handful can score is still pointless. We aren't the 2010 Heat underachieving here.

I don't think we are this bad. But the defense has been horrendous. I think they need to get on each other to be in the right places and to communicate more. I can't believe that there is nothing for these guy to discuss at 2-7.

No disrespect, but I'm gonna side with Clyde on this one.

EDIT: They could start with the last play of the Magic game.

I would like the player who shall remain nameless to get some more PnR opportunities (on offense!). Seems like the only time he gets the ball nowadays in the post. Just because we run the triangle doesn't mean we can run some other basic plays.

The majority of these players know they arent gonna be returning to the team even IF they play well. Not really sure what they would even talk about as the team doesnt have any particular goal they have set this season other than learning the system. the certainly cant discuss the defense as if talking will make it better.

A meeting would be pointless.

i don't think you can expect someone to change their personality. melo is just too nice actually. i remember artest saying that. that melo wouldn't yell at guys while kobe would basically tell them that they sucked. i know kobe would never have let tyson chandler get away with complaining about shot attempts while sucking on d.

I remember an interview with George Karl where he said Carmelo was a leader, but that he was the leader of complaining and sulking ( negative attitude ) . You dont want someone with a negative attitude to be the voice the team rallys around.

Yea its crazy to see how many people are acting like his presence is gonna lead to more wins.

Did anyone even watch last season?

Also pretty funny how dramatically the Raptors fortune has turned since getting rid of him

Return to New York Knicks
