Why I see HBC liking Towns is because he's a swiss army knife.. and he can pass well and he can run and block shots. I'm wondering if he's thinking he's like a center version of Lamar Odom in the triangle.

Lamar was a point SF/PF... Towns is a PF/C, but Cal says he can play combo F, too!!

With Towns and LMA we could've better shooting options, but maybe Okafor and Gasol might be the better fits. Or Okafor and Millsap the alternative.

He also played very well during the regular seasons he was here with us exception of last year coming back from injury and even then he was not that damn bad. The thing with Tyson tough is that he's more like the final piece, he's not a core piece.

where we disagree is when you are paid 14 million you aren't considered a final piece you are a core piece as you eat up so much salary.

tyson was a dude in the playoffs and all of last year with his leadership and defense which is what he got paid to do and failed to do.

This is my problem here with fans. How do you defend Shump earlier in this thread stating that we as fans should know what the deal is with his offense and that he has never been a great shooter and if we expect more that "you don't know what to tell us" but then don't apply that very same logic to any player that puts on a Knick jersey?
Tyson was in the league for a decade before he came here. You knew what he was. Why did you expect more? Because of his contract? Contracts don't make players better...

i expected elite defense and leadership. And i was more than fine paying him that money if he brought that every night. He didn't, he didn't earn his check. He was paid to bring certain things to the table which he didn't way to often.

But in the triangle Lamar got the ball at the elbows with his back to the basket a lot. Sure Lamar can handle the ball but he did a lot of work in that system without dribbling the ball. And Lamar was a beast on the boards averaging 10 a game some years there normally Point forwards don't put up those rebounding numbers.
