See, the Brooklyn haul I was talking about in the other thread, it is possible

It definitely is possible. Just not to a team that he's willing to go to. I hate that NTC so much.

With the supposed two teams (Cavs and Clippers) as being the only teams he'll consider waiving the NTC, seriously doubt we get much in return. Bottom of the 1st rd pick at best from the Cavs.

Yea. If Melo didnt have a NTC, I can see desperate teams like the Kings, Pelicans, Magic, and Washington to bid against eachother and give us a pretty good deal for Melo.

Those teams would be thrilled to take Melo off our hands for 1 unprotected 1st and a top 5 protected first with some expirings.

Joke would be on them when they find out Melo is a spot up jump shooter and they land in the lotto the next 2 years.

But it at least shows how he is still valued, could also be used as leverage to contenders to fleece their future picks despite the NTC

It's important that we don't accept a Ewing to Seattle type deal. That hurt us for a long time. Longley was terrible and Rice turned into Shandon Anderson's and Eisleys contracts (which were awful). If we trade Melo, it has to be for an actual asset. Otherwise, agree to a buyout or keep things as they are.

Carmelo's coments were directed at Phil. Again this didn't need to be done through the media. Phil could have just reached out to Carmelo's agent or had a meeting with Carmelo.

This tells me the front office doesn't want to get rid of Melo. Phil wants to get rid of Melo.

Who? Melo? He said in post game if ""that side" thinks he should move on then they need to talk. This was in response to Berman pushing the issue about Rosen article. That side being the key words. Meaning he thinks Phil is in cahoots with Rosen. As he should.

If PHIL really intimated the Rosen message then we should hear something soon. Either way....the door for the conversation is WIDE OPEN and all we will think, hear and, talk about until something ismsaid to address the issue. Phil has to respond now.

Mark Berman may have just done the best thing he ever could have tonight. He cast a line for this to be addressed and Melo took the bait. Now it is on Phil to respond.

Why? They can be like how Brooklyn now when these players reach retirement, a bit less due to Kyrie Blake being relatively young but still some haul for a 32 year old player

Melo already beat Phil. He's making Phil say he wants Melo gone and then the Knicks are screwed because Melo has no incentive to be traded just anywhere or hurting his new team. Now Cleveland or the Clippers offer the Knicks deadwood while Melo says I'm waiting for the right deal for me and my family. Thanks to the NTC the Knicks can't win this.

It on similar level with the comment Wade made about melo's NTC a few days prior.

neither side is being honest with each other.

That's a good one.

RIP Bullyball

And it's his own doing too. Much like Joe Johnson, Melo CAN'T consistently play a mediocre level defense and he WON'T accept that he isn't the main event anymore. They'll occasionally show a spark of the greatness they were, but the more they chase the dream of playing on that level and not modifying their game for the better of the organization, the faster they fall out of grace and the more the losses pile up. It's infuriating that his mindset and his game approach won't catch up to his reality of where his game is. If still feels he's a great shooter then run the 3pt line and be a sniper. Stop over dribbling and expending all that energy backing people down with pump fakes with the expectation that everyone else should expend 5 times their energy to cover your tired @$$ on the defensive end. There's no way teams like Boston, LAC or Cleveland are going to tolerate him waiving off plays on the offensive end and taking off plays on the defensive. NO WAY!!!

If that was indeed Phil speaking through rosin to get melo to ask out, then it back fired. Because melo just flipped back on Phil through the media. Now if he ends up traded it's because "Phil didn't want me".

And seems melo believes it was phils words. That's the second time this season a player flips it on Phil and makes Phil look stupid for opening his mouth.

Seriously, is it insane to think Melo could waive his NTC to go back to his real home?

Wizards are currently 5th. John Wall is a perfect PG for Melo, Otto Porter is a perfect strong wing defender to play next to Melo. Beal is still young enough to still improve defensively and is already a solid scorer. If their coach is smart, he would play Melo at the 4 and play him next to Gortat.

The owner of that team would probably love to acquire Melo. It would definitely put asses in seats since Melo is without a doubt still a big name. And the crowds they have been drawing have been pathetic. It'll have to be something like this:

Markieff Morris (maybe trade him to a 3rd team if he still has serious issues with Hornaceck? Dont know what the story is there)
Andrew Nicholson
Tank Commander Jason Smith
Kelly Oubre Jr.
Unprotected future 2018 or 2019 1st rounder.

Wall/Beal/Porter/Melo/Gortat is a solid starting 5.

Phil has always played the mind games with his players, players much better talents than Melo, and he's won everywhere except here. if anything Phil looks stupid for thinking he could try to build a competitive product with Melo as the center piece, not because of what he has his mouth piece saying. There's only one loser in the room. I don't even like Phil at all, but Phil really doesn't have to say anything else melo was clearly disturbed and that was Phil's goal. Phil wins again by bruising Melo's ego.

And both guys are guilty of talking through someone else's mouth, unless you believe wade has never talked to Melo about his NTC.

I think I would need either Beal or Porter back for Melo. Those players you named are not good enough and those picks will be 25 and up.
