Melo serves no purpose on this team anymore. If KP truly can't be a #1 option, then it's best that the organization find that out ASAP and try to get their real franchise cornerstone in the draft. If he can be, then cool, we add pieces around him

We were pretty happy when Gallo was ballin. The Garden would be fine too. It's just the media that's awful.

they'd get assurances from Blake that he'd resign before attempting a deal like that

They could but that's still risky. Players don't always stick to their word, something can easily change his mind.

Same argument as why Gordo won't go to Boston. If they traded for Blake and had his rights, he'd be locking up that deal (maybe even before the trade is finalized).

Yankees are doing it now too. I've always hated the narrative that you can't rebuild in NY. Judging by this forum alone I would think a proper rebuild would be met with open arms.

I doubt he's interested in an extension. He will probably be looking to get a salary increase like everybody else.
