Mitch is crippling our offense but Elfrid and RJ given wide open jumpers all game and building a brick house isn't?

there wide open shots...they are missing. That has nothing to do with Mitch. Mitch rolling to the basket is the only thing opposing teams even care about

8.5ppg
29.5mpg

On a per minute basis he's scoring less than Bismack Biyombo, who is putting up 8.5ppg in 27.5mpg. You have got to be kidding me at this point. This has to be a joke now.

His PG is elfrid payton...he has the worst tunnel vision in the league. Again teams take away the Mitch lob and give our guards wide open shots. If our guards could even remotely threaten the defense Mitch would be feasting on lobs.

the joke seems to be with your infatuation with Mitch. He was the only good one on the floor tonight.

We're a bottom 5 offensive team, the Hornets are also a bottom 5 offensive team, they have much better guard play than us, guess who cripples their offense but they play because of his defense.

I don't even understand what NBA some of yall are watching at this point. If we're going to continue to put the ball in Randles hands, everyone around him has to shoot it, and to maximize Randle in that way, getting a big to space the floor would help improve spacing. Did you watch the Sixers play last year, yes or no. Did you not see what happened to their offense everytime there was just 1 guy (Simmons) hanging around the dunkers spot while they tried to run offense? It grinded to a halt because the man guarding Simmons could slide over to help.

As far as infatuation, I didn't say anything about Mitch 2 games ago and you were just DYING to talk to me about him :lol: Now, it's "Nuh uh, you're infatuated!!!".;

ehhh he was ok. A couple garbage time baskets. He got into early foul trouble and we missed his production. I don't think he was engaged defensively. He looked slow all night (can't blame him) he is playing way to many minutes.

I just wouldn't classify as a "good" game. He was ok.

18/12/7 is good. He would’ve had another triple double if guys could hit their 3’s. Randle wasn’t why we lost. It was our guards.

I never said he was the reason we lost. I just wouldn't classify it as a good game. He has played games where he was 5-16 from the floor which I thought he was more effective. He was ISO'ing a bit more tonight and like I said he wasn't really engaged defensively.

He was far down the list of players to blame tonight though.

Wally put it best. For a guy who plays as many minutes as he does.. he can kind of drain a team with his misses. It’s especially deflating since a lot of them are good wide open looks. He absolutely needs to hit them more consistently

Randle dominating the ball, and making slashers become shooters is part of why our offense sucks and you know it deep down inside.

It's crazy how a lot people underestimate how much Payton hurts the team. Not Payton personally but his player profile and his skill set alone sets this team back and prevents our talent from blossoming.

He hurts Mitch because his presence removes the lob threat. He hurts RJ because he doesn't have space to slash to the rim. He hurts the team by dominating the ball and killing the flow of the offense. And he hurts the team by not playing any defense, which puts pressure on the interior.

RJ also hurts the team with his lack of shooting, but he handles the ball less, and he's more willing to spot up and take the 3 to maintain some semblance of spacing, although he's missing everything. And it's easier to live with the struggles of a 20 year old and consider them part of his development path, although he needs to get his sheet together too.

The Knicks will fall for Payton's production, keep him and eventually make moves to accommodate him instead of removing him completely as they should. Bet on that.

Return to New York Knicks
