Got an update on the sim for the 2021-22 season. They sent a video with a "first look" and there were a few updated things I figured I'd share.

First, they have expanded players personality traits. The game used to have 4 or 5 unique personality traits for all players that would effect a teams chemistry. Now, for this upcoming season they are up to 16 personality traits. Not sure how this will effect us but according to the video it sounds like they are taking actual roster building, cohesion and chemistry more into account than past years and not just going by "stars". They actually mentioned that they were hoping people would go for a 2 star player who's personality "fits" rather than the 3 star player who doesn't. Again, take that for what it's worth because I have no idea what that will mean for us but it is one of their featured changes for this year.

Second is something a bit more definitive and concrete for our league. This upcoming season will be the first time we will have the play-in tourney for #7-#10 seeds. The game has followed the NBA model and will now have a #7 vs. #8 game as well as the #9 vs. #10 game with the winner of the 9/10 game playing the loser of the 7/8 game. These two winning teams will be the 7/8 seeds this year just as the NBA does it. Pretty cool feature that will keep more teams involved as our season progresses.

But what I meant in my last post ^^^^ was that I felt like if I continued to run them up to Melo's official tournament, people would be disinterested by the time his comes around.

I'm still good with running them if you guys want. Just wanted to make sure the enjoyment wasn't lost by the time the official tournament comes out.

If people still want you to run until the tournament, go run them bro. I’m sure people will still have plenty of interest in the updated 2k

This announcement bodes very well for Toronto’s hopes to come out of the East. All the pieces fit, chemistry was definitely taken into account, and now teams who were obsessed with star phucking will have to factor in the fit, team chemistry, and if there will be issues with only having one ball.

Toronto often gets clowned for not having multiple stars but imagine that actually works in the Raptors favor now.

I just heard they are gonna add marginal utility to their sim where putting 5 20 point scorers together wont add to 100 points
