Is there any player this board wouldn't turn on in the blink of a second?

This is the reason the Knicks can never have a good team. The fan base isn't willing to be patient (unless its the likes of Frank Ntilikina). How can you ever rebuild with a fan base that turn on any and every player after a poor game? This is becoming disgraceful...

Julia Randle was never good. He was in a contract year and conned everyone.

Not sure if it's been brought up here, but Randle for Horford?
Add Knox and you get matching salaries.

Everyone saying randle would be a good #3, well there you go. The dueling stars thing doesn't work in Boston, maybe they need that bonafide Allstar veteran to smooth those two out as far as who's alpha and whatnot.

Al falls into a super Taj role for two years, and Taj can mercifully retire or become a Thibs assistant.
Would Boston roll those dice? Where else are they getting a third "star" that fits under their cap?

BOS would have to send us picks in that deal.

It was NOT a contract year. This year was an option year. They extended him early

Derozan is a shot creator, but not single-minded to the point the offense stalls with him on the ball. It would have been the right move.

Everything about the Knicks in the off-season is always bargain hunting and still overpaying for 2nd/3rd tier players. Derozan would have given value at the same price as Randle

6:48 Berman strongly hints that Julius was the biggest supporter of the Kemba benching…

Seeing how Thibs has never called Julius out it this makes all the sense in the world, that these two are in this together.

The chemistry is so f*cked on this team, I’m officially out on Randle

Me too. He's not a leader. Pouts when his shot isn't dropping. I think Thibs has gotten on him during time outs because we've seen him go from passively passing up open 15 footers and lapsing on defense to giving 100% after the timeout. He's difficult to figure up. He may just thinks too much on offense.

Eh, I’m not feeling both Thibs and Julius at this point. I think they have their own thing going on together and it’s not good for team chemistry. Thibs has given Julius too much power.

Thibs came into the season saying Julius got better from last year, which I thought was great news but looks like an absolutely ridiculous statement now. I actually don’t trust either of them now.

Berman said Julius was quoted as saying he thinks he’s doing well on defense, that motherf*cker is delusional!

I thought it was interesting about how Fournier perhaps didn't like Randle throwing his friend Kemba under the bus. Their chemistry seemed to be off too, until the Celts game. If we could move Randle, I'd be okay with that but I don't think that's a trade that will happen during this season. More likely during/after the draft. We're also going to have to play Fournier if we want a shot at trading him too.

Move:

Randle
Kemba
Fournier
Noel
Burks

Don't move:

RJ
Grimes
Obi
McBride
Knox
IQ
Sims
Mitch
MJ Walker
Amir Simms
Luka Samanic

Yup just use whatever value is left of Randle to maybe try and get rid of one of the other bad contracts we signed (Fournier). Kemba can likely be traded on his own since its a short deal.

Its time to just go with the youth and live with the results. If we're bad, then we can keep adding to the youth with picks, gotta find someone to go with RJ and Obi.

Why Horford. Is it just a salary dump? I know Knicks fans when they are pissed at a player start selling them for bags of chips but cooler heads have seen way worse contracts and way worse production have way more value. Consider Christian Wood is on one of the worst teams in the league and has loads of value and his contract situation ain't all that great himself. I don't think Julius is playing great in terms of what I need him to do but Al Horford? I expect some young talent in return.

yeah, basically a salary dump. I was just thinking from the other team's perspective and who might actually want Randle, and the Celtics could be a team that takes a chance on his talent. We all saw last year that the guy has skills but in the Knicks situation, with Obi and the way the youth seems to like to move the ball, Randle looks like a bad fit and he's likely a better basketball talent than he is a basketball player. So the Horford idea is basically just a way to erase a mistake. We have too many assets already for a team that isn't willing to go through a 5 year rebuild. Not every deal has to be won on paper so I'm all for moving a guy who's true colors have been shown, even if it's for nothing.

Randle for Harrison Barnes ?

Only 2 years on contract and doesn't need to play.

Randle can start for Kings with Heid and Fox.

Looks unfortunately like last season was a big aberration. Too bad, but I have lost all hope with him turning it around. With last year playoffs it's been now 40 games where he has mostly sucked. I'm not even a huge tank guy but at this point it is the only rational option to walk away with something positive from this season (I mean a high draft pick). The way Thibodeau and the team are going we'll end up with a 15th pick while completely erasing Randle's and Barrett's trade value.
