This is going to be very interesting. It is also very unfortunate… I don’t think they should go all in this year.

But a lot of my knowledge about shoulder dislocations is in like movies where they just pop it back in and are fine.

I dislocated my right shoulder 12 years ago, didnt have surgery and luckily it didnt re-occur again, but let me tell you man, the shoulder was never the same afterwards. Reduced mobility and strength, and I never forget the pain when I dislocated it i.e. its always on my mind when lifting heavy. Also, my push days at the gym consist of mostly unilateral exercises :(

I'm sure its different for pro athletes with all the resources they have, hope all the best for Julius and a speedy recovery.

I think it definitely is different for them. I have had a minor cartilage damage hampering me for two decades....the doctor said that with diligent and aggressive rehabbing when the injury occured I really shouldn't have had any problems....JR is a super diligent guy, if no surgery is required I would think he is going to be back within 6 weeks with no problems remaining. There are actually players returning from these type of injuries in less than a month.....however all comes down to the extent of injury.

I hope we get an update soon.....very worried right now....I'm thinking that if the MRI revealed good news they would have already updarted the situation....

If Randle is out for the year it definitely makes no sense to go all-in. No matter what trade they do, it wouldn't be enough to beat Boston.

Randle already had a season ending injury in the first weeks of his NBA career... thats probably the main reason why he dont play defense most of the time... and the reason why he was settling more for jumpers than play bully ball

Interesting, didn't see this posted in this thread..sounds a little more optimistic...Bagley definitely has some inside sources as well...hopefully he is right.....I'm very anxious right now....we were in the best situation since 1999....would really hate to write this season off.....

Yeah, nah…I’m good on him.

I’d check on Lowry. Plus, he’d be incentivized to extract some revenge on Miami.

C'mon man, it's Deuce Tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiime!!!

Once we get everyone back and healthy, I think this roster as presently constructed can get to the ECF. The only team I'm concerned about now is the Celtics.

I love the 3nD point guard element Deuce has been bringing but ball handling or facilitating for the 2nd unit is not his strength. Lowry could assist (pun intended) in that area.

Obi is apparently on the trade block after the Toronto trade. He knows the system.

I think fingers can be popped back into place but not shoulders.

Dunno why u think that because it’s not true. Shoulders just have stronger musculature and take more effort to pop back into place. In either situation, the concern becomes any damage to the soft tissue surrounding the joint.

It's 8 o'clock in the morning now in NY......why has there not been any update yet? I mean they surely know the extent of the injury as of now......really confusing...

When do you guys usually get an update on such a thing on a sunday?

I thought it took up to 2 weeks to get an MRI result.

His point is that we need a backup PF. Been needing one and the buyers market on power forwards is trash. So trash we are praying Hayward ask out. You have depth for this reason.

are Sims or younger Toppin better than him? if a team is full healthy you dont need more than 7, mostly 8 players... but thats why many times even 17 arent enough... the injuries are growing up despite medicine is in its peak and the level of defense has never been so low... probably the weight trainings being at the top of the list of causes and the poisened foods with additives, yeasts, pesticides, heavy metals, plastics and colors... add hydrocarbons, radiation and the robotic lifestyle (without nature, meditation and quiet environments).

MRIs are usually done the following morning after an injury. We will have an update today. Tomorrow at the latest.

Thanks! You are appreciated... and when we are talking about minute distribution, its Thibs fault that he doesnt rest his starters more... a game here or there a full rest and play more one or two reserves with the starting unit early in the 1st and 3rd quarters and there you have additional 25-30 mins more at least for two other reserves...

With practically 20 man rosters nowdays its morronic not to play 11-man rotations, at least during regular season... 9 max 10 in the playoffs

these type of injuries, especially when no surgeries are done in the process vary from 3 weeks to 6 monthsh if not more for a total recovery... knowing Randle who is Melo-like when it comes to the will to play through pain and ailments and Thibs who has no clue about sport (patho)physiology i fear that he will come back much earlier than needed and we are screwed again... he either will underperform or reinjure himself making it even worse the second time
