its the bump w iharts knee

The sport doc already help us ease our mind to get into this game. He said nerve from banging knee made his leg give out.

Brunson saying he’s much better is a good sign

Yeah, I see that now. It does seem like a delayed reaction to a bump on the curl where the nerves spasmed on the jump and then he couldn't walk right afterwards due to temporary numbness.

Give Shake all of Burks' minutes. Please. He can't be worse than Burks. Or can he?

I don’t think it was, he seemed fine after that, and on one of the slow motion replays I’m pretty sure did see contact from the defender to the side of his knee

Deuce only has 17 turnovers on the entire season. He takes care of the ball

Knicks as a team moved the ball really well…31 assists, 9 turnovers

Character win for sure! We just own Cleveland for some reason. We just bully them! Hart is such a good player too. Does everything!! And so glad Brunson will be alright. Might miss some games but idc as long as it's not season ending. Duece can hold it down for a few games and we just signed Shake too. Great sign Thibs went with Deuce over Burks. Deuce is quickly earning that trust!

And I can't believe some here blamed Thibs for Brunson getting hurt a minute into the game. Y'all make no sense!!

Just a couple undetectable millimeters of extra lift on the jumper and perhaps the knee coming in from the side misses contact

He looked pretty exhausted 40 seconds into the game after 2 days off, could barely dribble the ball up the court

They are soft, but they’ve also had a soft schedule since the new year.

They also haven’t played well since the all star break (3-4).

the most upsetting moment in the game thread:

was not Jalen going down with what looked like the dreaded non-contact knee injury.

it was someone letting us know RJ was having a good game

I'm hoping the plan is for Shake to take all of Burks minutes cuz he's just plain awful.

So the previous 1,000,000 minutes at 99% usage don’t count?

You were ridiculous and vocal after the last spate of injuries. The entire basketball universe besides you and a couple others understand that Thibs overuses his players and it’s a cumulative effect that increases the odds of injury because, you know, that’s how life works.

Anyway, you’re dug in on this so have fun believing that injuries are random, unavoidable, and have nothing to do with Thibs being an absolute lunatic.

In the regular season though. Not every team brings it every night like Thibs has the Knicks play. Probably the Heat is another that will always be a tough game any given night. But some teams take games off and Cleveland has been taking advantage.
That run of theirs in January and February had the Wizards 3 times, the Pistons and Bulls twice, and then Raptors, Spurs and Grizzlies. There were some impressive wins, not gonna take that from them, but the majority was against the bottom dwellers.

What the Knicks did tonight was we pretty much reminded the Cavs of last year's matchup.

You speak for me, because I'm not going to get into it with every glib post mocking the well-established fact that Thibs is terrible at load management

What happened with Brunson tonight is likely unrelated, but that in no way mitigates the underlying reality that Thibs has a history of playing players past their individual limits and sometimes ruining them. Case in point, Donte was clutching his hamstring game before AS Break, yet Thibs didn't care and kept him in.
