People really had themselves convinced that Jalen was a self-involved prima-donna, Josh hated Jalen and Jalen and Josh both hated Mikal to the point of intentionally freezing him out.

Re: PG: KNICKS OT Prayer Answered In Philly!!
When the Knicks were winning chips, they didn’t wholesale substitute players from the bench. There were rotations of one or two at a time. If it was a blowout, they’d put in 5 from the bench and this later became known as “garbaaaage time.”But it wasn’t often.

I think we all forget how Mitch changes our team until we see him on the court and watch him control the entire paint and out-battle other teams C and PF at the same time.

idk if they overturn.
to overturn it has to be 100% obvious blown call.
This is the NBA after the fact saying when weighed on merit, it was not a foul.
Two different standards.

I was yelling at the screen. Did he even look at the bench guy to challenge? They have people for that. IMO you challenge ANYWAY. You never know and the clock stops either way.

DOT wrote:Guano wrote:but, to your point about the front office failing to get dean wade's level bench players - that is where i'm at - either the front office is to blame for not having a decent bench(which i don't think we have) and not holding the coach accountable for playing them. they're allowing thibs to destroy the team.
I think the real problem is the bench is unbalanced
Like, even with Mitch healthy, we would have 2 bench guards (Deuce and Payne) and 2 bench bigs (Mitch and Precious), with no bench wings
Lacking any backup for Mikal/OG is the real problem, but that circles back to being an FO issue. Ryan Dunn isn't amazing, but he's a wing defender in their mold who was available. I know we didn't have KAT at the time so we didn't know for sure what the team was looking like, but the fact we took a wing and don't play him is a bad look when we need a backup wing
The way I imagine they're gonna try and fix it is by benching Hart and starting Mitch next to KAT, but that creates problems of its own, namely that our big advantage comes from KAT at the 5, and playing him next to a non-spacing big is gonna neutralize any defensive gains.
Yeah everything they did in off season was in win now mode, except they drafted a young project in Dadiet rather than a more NBA ready Ryan Dunn.
But then would Thibs play any rookie significant minutes?
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.
