Maybe just something simple and small like a Javonte Green.

Are folks confident Robinson is going to come back and be reliable? I am thinking this team definitely needs another big man.
I dunno.

We're all happy that he finally made the adjustments that we've been screaming about for months. Why would we want him to fail, we would just love if he could make quicker adjustments and get out his own way at times.

As i said the previous game thread, is what many criticized him for imo was done intentionally for 2 reasons, first which was an organization decision to play starters heavy minutes early on to speed up the gelling process and second deuce and precious were not 100%. So put this all together means in january this team is beginning to click on all cylinders

It's not just the mins. It's staggering Brunson and Mikal instead of Brunson and Hart. Many asked to stagger your two best ball handlers and shot creators, which he has magically done during this stretch. Also, the defense is no longer drop coverage on every single play and as a result, we are playing our best defense. Thibs has a history of slowly adjusting, it's just who he is. For the life of me, I still can't understand why he haven't figured out how to beat a zone, but that's another story.

So, I'm glad that we're no longer overextending our starters, trusting the bench, threw that drop coverage bs out the window and using Mikal and KAT oppose to KAT and Hart. But to act like it wasn't a problem when you started to have ex players, opposing teams and everybody momma talking about it is crazy.

Right now, I have zero complaints about Thibs.

So we swept our finals opponents. Good for the morals.

People acting like the Knicks had a healthy Deuce, Precious, Cam and Shamet all season long but Thibs refused to play them. They've been all healthy together for about a dozen games...

So, even when they were leading games in those series (classic example of this is the Jordan Bulls) there was always the subconscious, ominous dread lurking that the talent discrepancies would eventually catch up.

While the dread still resides at a molecular level in my cells simply because I'm a fan of this franchise, it's no longer because the other team is simply better. In 2025 the New York Knicks are trotting out established NBA talent that can match or exceed any team in the league in any given night.

We're often watching our favorite team win simply because they're better at basketball than their opponent. They're not prevailing by getting on a heater, coaching, or outworking/outhustling, though all of those things can happen. They're just more talented and better at basketball.

Maybe the first time I've said this earnestly, but man - what a time to be alive.

Which makes it hard to fully enjoy this current team - foreboding joy is a mf. Though im fully aware that this is probably going to be the best Knicks team we ever watch in our lifetime. So I better enjoy it.

No doctor but can't you remove a bone chip and be back in like a month or so?

He's done it a few times. The problem was he would only play one other guy like 6-9 minutes thus the 7.5 man rotation. The last few games he woke up. The entire league and media and fan base were all talking about it. They were all correct. I think the FO said something to him as well.

Maintain this rhythm and I have no complaints. The bench does NOT suck. They just nedded to play more!

I gotta say bro, shamet def sucks
If we can include him to get back a 2nd rounder I wouldn’t mind

Shamet is decent 10-15 MPG guy. He's coming off a major injury where he opted not to get surgery and do straight rehab. He's got a good stroke but needs more time to get back into rhythm.

For the "Knicks need more pace" crowd

https://www.samford.edu/sports-analytics/fans/2023/Does-Controlling-the-Pace-Win-NBA-Games

TLDR

Conclusions

Good analysts know to put age-old wisdom to the test. Announcers often talk about teams controlling the pace as if it was a way to assert your will. However, this hypothesis is not supported by the data.

That is, the data showed that in the NBA, dictating the pace had no impact on winning.

Does win against non top 6 team count as a quality win?

Missed the first half but had it recorded so just finished watching entire game. What a great quality win. The team is coming together, everyone played well. Denver came out strong in the third and stayed competitive but we had an answer for everything. So many great plays a real team effort
