40/10/5 AND 30/10/5 from 2 guys on the same team? when does that happen?

Also anyone notice how Hart has gone from 6'7" to 6'6" to 6'5" to now under 6''5" over the years?

Actually he has been pretty consistent. His defense may not be on OG level but it is pretty solid or even good on most nights. He really had like around 10 bad games on offense this year....which out of 54 games played, make him pretty consistent. He is shooting 49%/36%/74% on the year. He is actually 1% better from field and 1% worse from 3 point-land in regards to his career averages. If you look at his career stats he really is a 36-37% 3 point shooter.

I think people tend to forget that even really good players put up some bad games.

Like, for Brunson, he's had maybe 3 subpar games all year, which is really low but we're all really spoiled by his consistent greatness.

For other players, it'll be more, and Bridges falls into that.

Think I notice with Bridges, even those bad games, he's been dishing 5 assists per game pretty regularly. So there is good ball movement. Actually, probably astounding ball movement, considering Thibs isn't the most creative coach.

But credit to Thibs, he does stress off ball movement and players making decisions. He just lacks tweaking stuff to take advantage of his personnel. At least, not at the level of truly creative offensive coaches.

Knicks fans wanted to put Obi Toppin in our starting lineup because supposedly the team plays better with him whatever thats supposed to mean. Thats why I let Leon and Thibs do their thing or we'd have Obi at center instead of Towns lol

I'm not joking BTW...

Yes

While I was watching the game yesterday the only player that I can think of that does nearly all his damage in the paint is Giannis...the difference being Giannis is 7 feet tall but there games and the way the impact the game are pretty similar.

Physicality, effort, strength. Rebounding, going coast to coast (one man fast break)...being a secondary playmaker in the half court and finishing around the basket.

Now Giannis is basically 7 feet tall and that is basically the reason he is who he is compared to Hart. But from a pure basketball sense they play eerily similar brand of basketball.

Its also more credit to Hart because he can have that type of impact playing that style at 6'4.

 Knicks were in the penalty 7 mins into the 3rd, where the refs were calling it extremely tight.

WTF is this guy even talking about.

Not sure who is a bigger bitch, him or Nick Nurse.

In his defense, what else can he say? If he spoke the truth, he would have to admit his fourth and fifth highest paid players are unplayable, his star guard is too weak to play through contact, he has no defensive schemes that can prevent easy points inside, there is such a dim future for the team that even Alex Len ran away, and their best young talent (Mathurin) will probably walk or be traded because this play-in roster is inflexible with all the extensions kicking in. Is that really what you want him to say?

I find it reassuring in 2025 that a team led by two guys who dress like Haliburton and Turner is too weak to win. Kuzma would have made a good third wheel.

I’d love to see Obi as a 12 mpg backup on the Lakers, staggered 50/50 with Lebron/Luka. He’d average 12 ppg on 6 lobs.

Random pop in - Josh Hart might be my favorite Knick all time man. He's what Lamar Odom was for the Kobe/Pau Lakers.

We are contending right now. We may fall short but, top of the league teams win championships. We are exactly that. There are three teams we have to worry about if we played them today. Let's see if that changes in three months. Mitch could definitely change the dynamic some. It's been a fun ride for the most part. Losing to BOS/OKC the way we have definitely sucks but, we aren't finished building this team or the chemistry. They took years to get where they are right now. Hopefully we get there too. We aren't that far off. I choose to enjoy reality and not some unrealistic expectations I made up in my own mind.

I don't think this team without Robinson beats the top 3 of Thunder, Cavs and Celts. With a HEALTHY Mitch who is anywhere near the Mitch of last few years we CAN potentially beat anybody.

Well....you never know but, Mitch is on this roster and we are challenging the top of the league to make the playoffs. So we are contending. If we fall short that's ok. If we get better with Mitch and win, that's ok too. We are actual contenders right now. That doesn't change until we lose in the playoffs. Then we regroup and try again next year.

JB your tune from this offseason has definitely become more optimistic and I love that.

With that said, I think this teams defense is too flawed in Thibs rigid system to beat the top, top teams WITHOUT an elite rim protector.

THibs has had an elite rim protector all 5 years he has been here. KAT while he has been awesome in practically every other way , has proven he can't be an elite rim protector at this point.

Achiuwa is nice but he isn't a true elite rim protector either. Huk is developing as a rookie and it's clear Thibs doesn't fully trust him yet.

So while I love this team they would need a coach who isn't so rigid and can execute a high level switching defense to win with this group without the elite 5 (without Mitch or an elite rim protector).

Great win! Once again the bench proved Thibs and his fans wrong. They can contribute when given chance

At one point Fire Marshall Bill complained about a call for KAT on an offensive board and shot. KAT just came in without any contact and then was fouled on the putback.

He was just frustrated they gave up the key board.

But again, psychologically — the whole league is looking to get bailed out by the refs. I even think it’s why fans are turned off.

It’s like codependency instead of competition.

Hyping up Obi, they tried to convince us Jericho Sims with a mid 3 ball is better than Randle...the madness

KAT was a hot knife through their Rick Carlisle vintage defense. Our defense is garbage also but theirs has gone down the toilet the past couple years.
