It's really strange to see a coach be so blind to such an obvious issue.
The winning really does hide a lot of clear flaws.

The additional bit is that since Thibs usually coaches the regular season like it's playoffs, we don't have a dial to turn up whereas other teams do.
If the refs let both sides play more physical who does that help more?

i think i get where you're coming from with the bold but don't know how much i agree. it always looked to me that contact is an important and expected part of Brunson's game. i think he gets bothered by the lack of calls when he's getting his braids smacked around in the paint. but he's kind of a bully ball PG. he's got a post big's footwork and use of physicality.

True. Don’t get me wrong I’m not saying Brunson is afraid of contact or that he’s gonna get punked. But he definitely will complain a lot if he’s not getting calls and he is prone to trying to go 1 on 1 against physical defenders when there are better and less tiresome options. If refs are letting a guy like Ausur do whatever he wants on defense it’s going to mean Brunson is getting worn down at a much faster rate if he’s hellbent on going at him continuously. Have to remember Brunson is nearly always being guarded by someone bigger and stronger than he is.

ah, i get you. just physicality as the main approach to stopping him being effective to some degree. i agree with that. kind of has to be the approach. you def can't NOT meet him with physicality.

That he could only frame the compliment in terms of what Thibs has done for him individually is not what you want to hear from the leader of your team. Not a single hint of how Thibs has helped them as a team

rather than using "means", jb used "meant" (past tense). he also used the word "individually" rather than referencing the whole squad

i know y'all don't like thibs and that's fine. i understand why. but these some embarrassing straws to be grasping at.

as far as the emotion behind his response, he's always measured -- especially when he's being baited and the comments section noise is being brought to his doorstep.

some of y'all are smarter than this and capable of making your points in more earnest. but that's kinda what we've let this forum get to over the past while.

Pistons have struggled the most against centers who can shoot threes this season.... Especially early in the season. Duren gets back in transition and defends the paint and we get a trailing Myles Turner or Brook Lopez hitting a transition three.

As much as everyone will talk about Cade/Brunson this series will really come down to what KAT can bring. If he averages 22+ PPG and 40%+ from deep the Knicks will likely win the series.... that said, the Pistons are going to be really physical with him and go at him so we'll see how he responds.

Can't wait for about 10 of those plays per game where it's obvious to everyone in the arena the moment the Knicks start bringing up the court that they want to force feed the ball in the post to KAT.
