Brunson is changing the knicks culture.
I had this doom about closing this out cause of knicks trauma but fck all that. After seeing this i believe he is going to carry us to the ecf.

I think the approach was ... JT is out, so they'll do something different and the game will tell me what to do
I think this is exactly it and let me add to it that Thibs sucks at in-game adjustments. It's only after a full @ss beating that he realizes what he might have to adjust for the next game. Look to see a much better played game 6 now that we got our Tatum-less @ss beating out the way and Thibs knows what to expect.

Honestly, maybe he's sending a message because the starters played with no sense of urgency out there.

He had another very good shooting game by his standards and the Celtics just don't care. Kornet had 7 blocks. 2 of them on Hart and 5 of them while ignoring Hart defensively and he impacted multiple other half court possessions.
The team has 2 huge weak links defensively in Brunson and KAT. There are going to be games where they will just have to outscore their opponents. I would love to see what this team looks like with Hart in a slightly reduced role. The team doesn't have an offensive or defensive identity and Hart just doesn't feel like a game changer on either end of the court. Unless the plan is to just go back to the inefficient offense of previous years where they controlled the boards i'm not sure what Hart's role is in the starting lineup.
they just let Hart roam free and live with the results. He hasnt shown that he is truly a deadly threat from range. But i do like his transition game. Problem is, knicks is mainly a halfcourt type of team.

Correct. Both coach and players deserve blame.
Yeah but a good coach ensures his team is communicating, is on the same page
It's kind of a nonsensical statement
Coaching is organizing and ensuring breakdowns don't happen ... come hell or high water
They will happen, but not letting too many pile up and wreck you is ... a coach's job a little bit lol

This Knicks team is learning along the way and I have confidence they'll be more than ready next game. This is just another wholesome experience for this Brunson lead team.

It's unfortunately gotten to the point where the Knicks "playing well" is the anomaly. Maybe this is just who they are.KnicksGod wrote:kNicksGmen wrote:Thibs sucks but have to also question this roster. Their overall talent level and fit together etc.
OG going 1/12 or whatever he was. Just embarrassing. Game 2 he had 5 points, game 3 he had 2 points and tonight he had 6 points.
Kat is a cone on defense and very limited offensively if he's not being setup with catch and shoot 3s which is something this team/scheme simply does not do - and tonight seemingly the gameplan was not to post him at all.
I think I'm going to have to accept the distinct possibility that the Knicks blow this and lose the series. That way if they don't, great. But if they do it won't be as devastating.
Going into this series I had low expectations. We struggled against a mid Pistons team that honestly didn't even play well. I was hopeful the knicks could be competitive and maybe push it to 6 but at least avoid getting blown out every game. This series has been extremely weird with the Knicks comebacks and then they FINALLY play a great game in game 4 - the only game I would consider a great performance all around this entire postseason... and they follow it up with this complete dud. I just don't know how to have faith in this team but I will hope for the best but expect the worst. Losing after going up 3-1 will be far more devastating that if they had just lost in 5-6 (or got swept) as originally expected. Especially with a beatable Pacers team waiting in the ECF.
This is how I feel, although I don't care that much already ... benefit of being old
You know I don't think there's any core here, which is what you're getting at. Seeing is believing ... KAT just seems like he's got too many holes
You don't go from really questionable sht like we're seeing to suddenly championship form
I hate being the bearer of bad news ... Brunson has done some crazy stuff and I get that, and there are times the team looks really good
But the lows are too low to believe there isn't a set of fundamental and insurmountable problems ... I don't think they just go away
I agree, Pistons didn't even play well and we were lucky to win that series too

I'll never understand this...
Why are you grabbing another man's junk.
What makes it even more crazy is you're doing that on a nationally televised game.
And more importantly he should be banned from the league like jontay Porter
