Again, Lin had a better year than Carmelo. Or have you forgotten the majority of the season when Carmelo couldn't hit a shot to save his life?

my last post on this:

1) it makes no sense not to match from a nonbball perspective: you got a competitor in brooklyn, a cash cow for the far east to expand your brand and get more jersey sales/tv contracts
2) you have no assets at the moment aside from shump and 2015 cap space (and lin is supposed to be in that also)...its totally cool but lin has to stay or else you have nothing to build upon post 3 yr plan
3) considering amares injury history you need additional scoring assets available
4) even if lin has issues with FO or teammates, match the offer and deal with it next year

I cant think of any reason not to match...if things dont work out this year trade him next summer, teams who lost out on stars will be eager to get him

Means Grunnie is in NYC meeting with Jimmy D & going over the figures on Lin's contract

Key word bruh.

Key word for what?

I think that's the key word for the team who beat the living piss out of a Lin-less Knicks at the end of the regular season, and in doing so, killed our chances at getting the sixth seed we so desperately coveted.

Lin had a better year than Carmelo last year. I don't see how this is even up for debate. Carmelo was a mess most of last year, while Lin was outstanding as a starter.

Why hate on Lin? Did anyone hate on Melo for going after every cent he can get? Did anyone hate Amar'e for getting that extra year that Phoenix didn't want to pony up? he wants to get paid just like everyone else in the league.

Yes they did actually.

You know what, you're right. It's just Melo's quote was ridiculous.

I just dont' get how the board is angry at Lin for getting his money. Everyone is trying to get as much as they can. Why should he sacrifice his earnings when Melo and Amar'e didn't?

False hope.

The writing's on the wall. When this amount of negative press and character assassination comes out, it usually signals a change (e.g. Marbury being told to go home, D'Antoni "resigning") When negative press like that comes in waves, it becomes clear that Dolan put it in circulation.

this has nothing to do with winning from Dolan's perspective.

I'm telling you at best Lin is a bench player

I'm ears, explain yourself

You have eyes you can read, like I said last season I think he's best as a sixth man coming off the bench, Alan Hahn reiterated the same thing I said. Guess he's delusional?

Not the Melo apologists, which there are plenty on the Knicks' board. The breakdown is probably 45% Melo fanboys/Lin haters, 45% Lin fanboys/Melo haters, and 10% neutral. Might even overestimate the neutral part.

as opposed to the majority of Lins career where he couldnt hit a shot? wasnt Melo the guy who carried us into the playoffs averaging 30 points a game shooting 50%> Guess people forgot about that too. We wouldnt have amde the playoffs without either guy and Melo had his worst season in awhile and was still an all star and all NBA third team so Id say hes earned his money.

Carmelo certainly didn't play well the first half but (i) he played more than 25 games; (ii) he was the NBA player of the month; and (iii) he played insanely well down the stretch.
