He's a sports writer for the Huffington Post. He got a few things right this offseason (notably Camby) before anyone else.

Lin was all NBA 3rd team?

my last post on this:
1) it makes no sense not to match from a nonbball perspective: you got a competitor in brooklyn, a cash cow for the far east to expand your brand and get more jersey sales/tv contracts
2) you have no assets at the moment aside from shump and 2015 cap space (and lin is supposed to be in that also)...its totally cool but lin has to stay or else you have nothing to build upon post 3 yr plan
3) considering amares injury history you need additional scoring assets available
4) even if lin has issues with FO or teammates, match the offer and deal with it next year
I cant think of any reason not to match...if things dont work out this year trade him next summer, teams who lost out on stars will be eager to get him

Source confirms that while #Knicks remain highly concerned about Lin's third year ($14.9 million), remain likely to match Jeremy Lin offer.

Why hate on Lin? Did anyone hate on Melo for going after every cent he can get? Did anyone hate Amar'e for getting that extra year that Phoenix didn't want to pony up? he wants to get paid just like everyone else in the league.
Yes they did actually.

Again, Lin had a better year than Carmelo. Or have you forgotten the majority of the season when Carmelo couldn't hit a shot to save his life?

this has nothing to do with winning from Dolan's perspective.
I'm telling you at best Lin is a bench player
I'm ears, explain yourself

Lin had a better year than Carmelo last year. I don't see how this is even up for debate. Carmelo was a mess most of last year, while Lin was outstanding as a starter.
