Is this a lead up to a Scooby Doo moment where Phil rips off his suit to reveal a Laker jersey, and this was all an elaborate ploy to lure Melo to LA?

Come on man.. anybody to LA has always been a realistic scenario. Have you ever spent time there?

I love LA, minus the fact that poverty & numerous hoods are only blocks away from the Staples Center.

I spent 2 weeks there in my mid 20's. It was actually dissapointing tbqh. San Francisco and, especially, San Diego otoh were great places. Could be just me but LA isnt as great as some people imagine it to be. Now I can imagine if you have money, it can be great, but thats true of any place.

I loved it.. thought I was going to hate it. I've never been to San Diego.. but I've been to Frisco and the bay area. It's a tough choice.. if I had the bread to survive in Frisco I'd probably choose Frisco too but then again Santa Monica is great also.

Agree. I go to Southern California every couple years. Love San Diego, beautiful city, great weather, but I hate LA. It's a huge city, traffic is crazy making it hard to get anywhere. Smog is better then it was years ago, but there is a heaviness in the air out there. Love San Diego though and that's only about an hour from LA. LA has some nice suburbs too, but the city itself...

Youre not exaggerating either. When I was there I got one of those travel books on California...Fodors I believe. For LA they had a map laid out where basically the entire east, half the central and southern regions of LA county were greyed out with a message saying avoid at all cost at risk of your health and safety. The famous Grummans Chinese Theater is actually just a few blocks from motels that cater to hourly rates and prostitution. I know cause I stayed there thinking it was cheap and found out why with hookers basically walking up and down the street that first night.

I'd actually rather live in Santa Barbara than anywhere else in California.. with Santa Cruz and Marin county coming in close second.

I was always drawn to LA, but when I finally got there, too much of the city reminded me of Coney Island Avenue in Brooklyn. Babes were hot, however...

Who knows if they get injured playing in a different system.

The system didnt get them hurt.

Pau has bad feet and Nash is old.

Eh Nash got kicked in the shin in game 2 of the year and has always been hurt since. I agree there.

Pau actually got hurt because of plantar fasciitis and was still being played. He's a toss up

Kobe and Metta just got crazy minutes. They aren't hurt with another coach IMO. Look at Kobe this past year. Dantoni told the press he was told to ease him back, starting at 20minutes on TWC, and then he decided to play him 30mpg for 6 games in 9 nights after two full contact practices

Blake always manages to take a yearly vacation in the 4 years he was a laker with random ****. Last year it was a baseball injury. The year before he stepped on a spike strip in a parking garage. There was him hurting his ribs on a pick and later stretching the second year he was there. And he caught chicken pox at the end of the year in season one.

San Diego is absloutely terrific. Fir guys in their 20s I would strongly recommend it. Stayed at one of the international youth hostels right on Pacific beach. Was in a room with 4 girls...2 from Sweden and one from Australia...they loved walking around the room with just panties and often no tops. Ended up taking the 2 Swedes wuthme for the rest of my stay in CA. Good times. Good times.

Went to California a couple times as a kid. I remember loving it, but I think my favorite thing at the time was ninja turtles toys so its not like I had an adult perspective.

One HUGE drawback that it seems no one considers:

Sharks.

My favorite national holiday, Shark Week, has educated me on their presence along the California coast. Great Whites like a few hundred yards away from the shore!! F*ck that noise.

Never hear about that **** in Manhattan.

Stone cold killers, fellas

Obviously LA is a beautiful place. He lives there in the off-season. That doesn't mean they're a better team. Steve Nash is done, Kobe is 35. Knicks have Phil Jackson and possibly signing Pau Gasol. Melo is talking to Pau about coming here, which I think is clear indication that he's staying. He's also down with Phil's plan to build a contender. Lakers don't even have a coach! He's not going there.
Make the Knicks great again!
