I take solace in melo having the worst takes of them all. having to defend randle on the daily has to be the worst.

Chanel stanning for Russ is pretty bad...

So its not that far fetched  . I think a lot of people would have traded most if not all our roster for Cade or Jalen Green as well at the time of the draft.

we actually did have those players at that time. you posted that in August 2021.

we had

RJ
Randle
IQ
Grimes
Mitch
Obi

you were willing to trade all of those players for Jalen Suggs..

Grimes and Obi were in the same draft class and I hated the Obi pick. So its not like they actually played yet, they were basically draft picks still.

that obi pick was so bad when Hali was sitting right there. I wasn't even high on Hali but we needed a pg so bad. we probably don't end up with Brunson if we make that pick so it takes the sting away, but that was a low point in a franchise that lives in the valleys.

can't fault chanel for appreciating the artistry of a hooper. russ is entertaining as hell - for better or for worse. I wouldn't want him here. but he was/is an enjoyable player.

considering Hali was also CAA it makes it even worse...basically picked Obi because Leon Rose son rep'd him.

Even Devin Vassell would have been a better pick.

It only looks like a wild take because Suggs hasn't gotten to that level.

I think you also battled me on me wanting to trade multiple draft picks to move up for Luka.

We all have swing and misses (I don't necessarily think Suggs is a miss yet but the trade value was def off  ) but I have never been shy of trying to trade up in the draft if I believe that player can be a star.

At the end of the day its a star driven league.

I never wanted to trade up for Frank though. I never viewed him as a star and always a good glue guy that could maybe develop into a really solid complimentary piece to a good team.

Fair enough, I never really did much diving into Tatum because I thought we needed a guard. Tatum has turned out to be a stud but he was never on the board for us. Our battles we DSJ and Frank. Which I guess you outlasted me on that end  but neither were good picks.
