probably not but the coach will have no impact on making trades or draft picks.

That's wild. HC has NO say in the roster? Of course he would.

nah this isn't a thibs deal anymore....geting "thibs" guys.

The FO will continue to operate. Jenkins or Brown or Kidd or any assistant coach will have no baring on our moves.

No. Coaches absolutely have roster input. Thibs just had specific types to run his stupid systems. It's crazy to think they don't pitch in on draft/trades/FA. Every HC in the league does..

they for sure will give there opinion...but its not vital too the process especially with the FO going with more of a MLB style "collaborative" approach with the coach getting suggestions and lineups/minutes from the FO.

Ok then. The only reason the draft isn't that important this year is because we pick 50th. It's not that serious. We better have a HC before Monday though. It's ridiculous if we don't.

there are rumors we might trade up...they don't need to consult with a HC to pick 32nd pick either. They have plenty of high ranking guys that make the decisions on draft picks. Thats what Walt Perrin and team are for.

We are still reaching out the candidates like Borrega...so I wouldn't expect a decision soon.

Stein said the Knicks are going to take this process into July too. I don't think they are in a rush to hire a new coach. Which is fine with me as long as they make the right choice.

take away the draft hype comparing him to the Canadian Lebron and he's actually a very helpful player. wing who plays defense, can score, shoot the 3 pretty well w/ volume

They are still reaching out to perspective candidates. With them being the only coaching vacancy they can take there time as long as they get it right. We still haven't heard of college coaches and there were rumors we probably would look at a few in that area as well.

Its not like they will be a big player in FA as well...all we really have is the TPMLE to use.

my question tho, why wasn't this done weeks ago? It's not like Borrego wasn't available. why the slow game?

Yeah, this draft isn't that important but, a HC would still have input. Whatever.

They need to figure this out and start working on the roster. Period.

that would be insane for us tbh.

so Mikal was literally the reason we won Game 1 (steals the ball from Jaylen Brown) and Game 2 (blocks Tatum's attempted game winner) against the Celtics and we are then gonna turn around and trade him for a Celtic?

We should be on Lonzo Ball.

1. Great defender
2. Above average 3point shooter
3. Primary ball handler/Can distribute
4. 6'6" - he can be the Eric Snow for Brunson

Me too but, at 10mil off the bench...if he's healthy again? I'm intrigued.

Coby White is the kind of player you need next to Jalen to give him a breather without him having to go to the bench.
