Gotta try to take advantage of PHX, SAC, NOP, etc. while we can before they hire competent front office people.

Brunson / Deuce
Booker / Allen
Bridges / Shamet
OG
Mitch / Richards

You're depending on Mitch as a starter? I don't think so.

I'm up for this game though (even though its way to early in the process). I agree on Sabonis (and then he provides zero spacing and the rebounding is basically a wash you would get more playmaking though).

So who are realistic trade candidates

Lets not do Giannis because he's not moving this year if MIL is playing well.

And for example your not getting Bam for KAT. But what would be a realistic trade where you net a similar impact type player (maybe could even be less offense but more defense) and the money obviously has to work as well. Doesn't have to be a 1 for 1 trade but roughly trying to get a sense of what players are close to equal value for KAT.

it's hard to say right now. gotta wait until the deadline and see who becomes available. at this point in the season nobody is in that mode. and it's got to be a team that wants to retool rather than rebuild because why take kat then.

To Detroit or Orlando for one of their better defensive centers? :-?

can mikal be the number 2 on a championship squad ? i don't think so. you gotta replace him with someone who can.

However that still leaves the Lakers with the Luka-KAT defensive problem, which is only a little better than JB-KAT. Also seems to leave the Lakers with too many front court players, but they could arrive that with some other trades I suppose.

I'd hate to see the Knicks do it, but it might be a small improvement in the very short term. And that is the Knicks time frame.

Trading for LeBron Hurt the Knicks. Besides, the lack of center on the roster and the increase of injury concern, we would lose the salary slot when LeBron retires.

Disagree. The Knicks best line up at the moment is with Mitch at center and Kat at the 4. LeBron at the 4 is as good offensively and miles better defensively. I mean, for sure, defensively, not every regular season play, but certainly when the going gets tough. Also, LeBron isn't retiring any time soon relative to the left of Kat's contract. That's a wash imo.

In any case, the Knicks have a two year window to win now.

So baring some minor fringe transaction, this is pretty much the roster for the season?

And the Wizards are already off to a 1-4 start. So start preparing yourselves to kiss that FRP goodbye.

Since the Suns FO is so bad, anything is possible!

Knicks should just lean into that "all offense, no defense" philosophy!

Then again, Brown seems to suck on coaching offense, so what's the point?

Whichever scenario makes him easier to trade, hopefully that happens.

We probably weren't gonna get Giannis without giving up Brunson.

LeBron to the Knicks? Leon Rose was LeBron's first agent. Mike Brown was LeBron's coach.
