Nobody was offering him a starting job. He lost his starting role on a bad Blazers team last year. How does Raymond Felton have a choice right now?

I think that people are too easily forgetting his last two years. He has history here and some still see this guy as that 17/9 "all-star," but our bet Portland fans are ecstatic that this guy is GONE. If Fields is going to get trashed for his contract...then there is NO WAY this guy can get anywhere near 4 years, 18 million. If Felton is willing to take a substantially lesser role for little $$$...and we also match Lin...then fine...but if we're giving this guys real $$$ and a starting role, I'm sorry, but it would be like getting stabbed in the heart...

It's silly but lin and fields have been removed from knicksnow.com.

Nah. Fatton can't play off the ball. Lin is not a SG either. Kidd can. But we also brought the Argentinian as well.

Add to that all these contracts add up to a catastrophic amount in year 3.

Lin is gone.

I am sad.

This. Cap reasons alone say the Knicks have made the determination to not match LIn.

how many more times do u need to see it reported that the Knicks and JD don't care about Luxury Tax?

Pablo Prigioni will be the starting point guard. That's right you heard it first. The three headed bench PG will be Lin/Kidd/Felton. Pablo has earned this spot by play zero minutes in the NBA. Since he also has the lowest salary he will give us the most bang for the buck.

Prigioni! Prigioni! Prigioni! Guys spell his name right already. Pablo deserves respect! ;)

Jeffries and Gadzuric are listed...so that gives you and idea that the list isn't what you think it is.

Outside of the one month purple patch last year when has he ever even been a top 20 starting pg? He was arguably the worst starter in the league last year. Does he have a single discernible NBA skill that he is above average at? Puke at this guy starting.

So, here is the game: Dolan makes trade for Felton so that the price of MSG stock drops. Then he buys stock, agrees to match Lin's sheet with Rockets, and the price goes up. Dolan makes money.

And then hauled off to prison shortly thereafter.

Felton is Woody's Jamal Crawford... only fatter

About the only thing I think why Lin doesn't like NY is the media... he is very shy. He prefers smaller market I guess. But he did trump NY media/ fans expectations in this past season, so his shyness wouldn't be based on fear of failure.

I'm guessing both Dolan and Woody really want Lin back but Grunwald or his assistants are throwing the pros and cons of letting him go and they're having discussions. To me, no brainer Knicks will match. But IF they don't (longgggggg shot imo), and let Lin walk, I'll support Lin and watch Rocket games... but my fave team will still be Knicks :D

Lin: Damn, almost reunited with my bitch Toney in Houston

Right. Because the addition of literally the fattest guard in the league and the oldest active player in the league changes our team's entire persona.

Lin was afraid to come back for the playoffs b/c he didn't want to risk injury as he was coming up on RFA and big $$$.

Huh? When did Felton play through an injury right before he was up for his first big contract?

considering he only averaged that for 10 games Id have to say none because it has never happened before.

Well he lost his starting job and clearly wasn't happy about it. I'm just not sure he was willing to go to a team with all of these PGs and most likely not getting major minutes. Perhaps it's possible.

In theory, the super depth guard rotation sounds great. But I'm not sure there's enough minutes for a future hall-of-famer, Linsanity, AND a guy who clearly still thinks he should be starting and will sulk when he doesn't, in addition to another PG.
