Bean counter Hal wont agree...he is more concerned with counting his profits, world series wins be damned.

Yup and like it or not, but Boston will be back next year. They always suck the year after winning the world series then bounce back. Man this is bad. Hal needed to sign Keuchel this year. And German screwed us. We had SOOOOO many injuries. This year was not on our side ever. Astros always making these crazy lucky plays, not us though. Whatever. Just sign Cole and get some contact hitters with high IQ. That's the best we can do now.

Looking at the list

Bu,ganer will not sign in ny

Wheeler isnt an ace

Pass on kuechel

It's really cole or bust for me and it weakens your major opponent.

Why won't Bum sign with NY? Didn't the Yanks want to trade for Wheeler before and thought they can make him an Ace? Definitely get Cole but I doubt he pitches for us like how he pitched for these guys.

Bu,game had the yankees on his no trade list. He doesnt want to pitch in the pressure of ny something like that

I like wheeler but hes more of a 3 or 4 to me

We need somebody clearly better than every one of our starters. Another guy I wouldnt mind is strasburg, but I want cole just to take him away from houston

Yea Cole is a definite get. I love Strasburg but he's always injured, he had a great year though. We might have to trade for a pitcher. I'm with u on "we need somebody clearly better than our starters". We need legit Aces and Cole fits that but we need another 1 then I'll feel super confident.

someone on a message board with legit sources with the mets said wheeler was almost a yankee or a astro this past deadline, but backed out last minute.

wheeler can pitch in ny, is better than his numbers show, and has pitched in big games.

Yes he is battle tested in NY. But I kinda agree with what the other guy said, we need guys that are clearly better than what we have, not #3 starters. I'm not sure if Wheeler can do better than Paxton, Sevy or Tanaka. We know Cole can. I would love Bumgarner but someone said he's scared of NY, we definitely don't need someone like that. Reminds me of Greinke. Wish we could of got Stroman, I feel like he's ready with what comes with being in pinstripes.

Very disappointing series and ending to an amazing season. Series was lost in a couple of spots, game two when they couldn't score off the Houston bullpen and game four when they let Greinke off the hook early.

Moving forward, Cole or Strasburg are the only two pitchers that are upgrades over what the Yankees have now. They need to sign one of those two guys IMO. I've been saying it all year that I think that the Yankees will sign Cole. Cashman has wanted him for years. Saying all that, it wasn't the pitching that cost the Yankees in this series. Overall, the Yankee pitching was very good. It was the lineup that let them down. They got nothing from Stanton, Sanchez, and Encarnacion. Those are three big time sluggers who did nothing of note in six games. Didi and Gardner weren't good either. Judge was ok but not what he needed to be. Urshela was great tonight but didn't do much before tonight.

LeMahieu, Torres, and Hicks were the only Yankees who showed up offensively.

Tonights battle of the bullpens...Green, Kahnle and Chapman gave up the runs. Can't do much about that when three of your top four pitchers gave up all of your runs.

With Cole being from the West Coast, you can bet the Dodgers will be all in. I doubtful Hal opens his bank account enough to outbid them.

Houston was just a better team. We have to hope we just eventually outlast Houston dynasty or they have a year where they are weaker and we capitalize. Cuz if you look the Houston core is still fairly young with the exception of a few guys like Verlander.

However, the Yankees do need to make some improvements. You are probably not going to be able to find a better catcher than Sanchez realistically unless one magically comes up in our system or internationally. But perhaps you bite on a trade where you get a solid reliable catcher and another attractive piece in exchange for Sanchez. Sanchez is too streaky and at this point has a history of being erratic in key spots.

They need to get at least one other high end starter to go with Paxton and Severino. Not slighting Tanaka as he has shown he rises to ace level in postseason play. But adding another top starter makes them more formidable and flexible.

I would shake up their lineup somehow. I haven’t totally figured this part out but they gotta see where they can make some changes and get some better situational hitting. Trading Sanchez and just letting Encarnacion walk is a start. I’m Dominican so it pains me to say it but those two let the Yankee nation down the most. They left an army out on the bases.

Yeah swapping out paxton for wheeler makes zero sense. Paxton picked himself up well in game 5 of this series.
