I’m beginning to lean into a deal centered on Randle for Fox. How about you?

Sure, I'd do that deal. Fox > Randle, but IMO not the greatest fit since our 2 primary options wouldn't be great shooters (RJ, Fox)

I'd prioritize their 2022 1st, start from scratch

I hear this year’s draft ends after the last lottery pick. Everything after that is meh.

Mitch and a future 1st for Brunson..if the Knicks have no intention of signing Mitch and want Brunson long term it makes sense

pretty much, but that's all good. Kings and Knicks will both have top 10 picks. really like the top-end of this draft

We’re going to have to agree to disagree on this. I just can’t let us pass on talent, especially in the backcourt, anymore b/c it costs too much.

But after tonight and with our upcoming schedule, I could be a 100% wrong about us not getting a chance to get someone

Halliburton has me very excited. More so than any possible guard that’s been mentioned here in a long time. I just really appreciate his floor game

Me too but again, at what price? Actually, that's a real question for you, you never pitched your trade. Cuz I just offered our entire draft from last yr and then our pick this yr which is getting closer to top 10 than teens as we speak. To me that's a solid enough offer. Wanna throw in like 2 2nd rounders or here's what I'll do...... what about a future pick swap? But cmon, that's it. This season is lost anyway. As I said it could be top 10, maybe lower. Hell, I could keep the picks till draft night and trade up for Ivey.

Then there's Fox who I'll agree with you I don't like him as much as Haliburton but if I can trade Julius for him and not lose much in terms of young assets I do it. Julius and Quickley and be done with it. You asking me to go all in on draft capital and youngins for Haliburton.

If we could get other things in place that I want (some more 3&D guys, dump some vets to open up time for the kids) I’d give up a prospect they want plus 2 firsts. I think he’s that good

Well it ain't gonna be any prospect I'm currently starting and it ain't gonna be Reddish. In fact Reddish IS your 3D guy. I think he has more potential than that but currently that's what he already is. I'd give up 2 current backup prospects to save the ones up top and I guess I do a 1st and that pick swap.

See that's just hard for me. I'd rather go after Fox if that's the cost. With Fox I could swap a player I hope we trade anyway in Julius, maybe throw in Quickley as a sweetener who becomes obsolete after the trade and save everyone else and my picks.

Then you can still trade the war chest elsewhere.

From an asset management point, I get it. It makes sense. It’s how I’d normally do business for players I like but not love.

But in this case, I want the more malleable player who’s a fit w/ whatever I put around him b/c of his shooting and defense. That’s why I’ll pay the price for Hali since I assume I got that position locked down, then I can fill in elsewhere easier. Pretty much I wouldn’t trade RJ and I’d try to keep Grimes. Anyone else can go and I’m desperate to hold onto the picks when the point of the picks is to help me get a Hali.

I’d be beyond ecstatic having Hali & RJ in our starting lineup the next decade. Mix in Grimes or Cam at the other wings and we got something

How about Randle for Christian Wood? Isn’t he from Texas? Maybe they would take him off our hands. Wood can space the floor as a big and can block shots too. He’s not as shifty as Randle or a ball handler but he makes quicker decisions with the ball than him that’s for sure.

All things considered - I’m actually extremely happy that the situation is playing out the way it is right now because it will really determine whether or not I continue to have any hope in this FO moving forward.

Seeing Randle walk away from Obi like that - regardless of who Obi is - honestly - is a line in the sand moment for me.

If this FO keeps Randle past the deadline - that in my opinion is actively contributing to a toxic culture that I honestly hoped we were turning a corner from. I can excuse almost anything except effort and culture.

I have faith that Leon and Co will do the right thing but if that man is still wearing a Knicks jersey in late Feb - it’s over for me, at least until we turn a new FO era and try again in 5-10 years time.

Surely they see this….right?? Please?? Someone reassure me lol!!

While I think it’s because we’re not ruining Fournier‘s value right before the deadline, I could also see Reddish being moved in a couple of days… probably just me being pessimistic though.

would easily trade randle/IQ (would probably have to include Grimes) to acquire Fox.

dont tell me chit about anyone on this roster being untouchable. IDGAF who you think we have that is the next Klay, Wilt, Amare, Gary Payton.

Then if Mitchell talk is real... throw the boat for Mitchell.

-----

Build around a Fox/Mitchell core with coach Johnnie.
BAF Suns

Chris Paul / Patrick Beverley / Shamorie Ponds
Buddy Hield / Timothy Luwawu / Stanley Johnson
Kendrick Nunn / Matisse Thybulle / Darius Miller
RJ Barrett / Kyle Kuzma / Dwayne Bacon
DeAndre Jordan / Kenrich Williams / DJ Wilson

I think if Fox wants out you can get him without giving up IQ or Grimes.

I’d go Randle, Deuce, picks and their pick of vet swaps.

Kings haven't made playoffs in 15 years.maybe we can trick them

rather save the pick haul fro Mitchell for the Harden deal.

Mitchell is on track for a HOF career.

No reason Fox can't be an all star level player.

Think harder, get creative. Knicks need to do everything they can for the Fox deal. Then focus their energy on a harden esque trade for Mitchell (Mitch to a 3rd team, RJ, Obi, boat load of picks)

Watching the kings in Philly without Randle. It’s clear they don’t have any go to scorers with Fox.

At least they got him out with sprained ankle waiting to take him. Knicks still playing Randle.

Haliburton 38 7 assist 3 steals

Fox for Randle heating up imo

Somebody had to score. He had 11 the game prior and 7 the game before that. The Kings need a reliable second scoring option for Fox not a replacement.
