I've been saying this for over a year... Cleveland doesn't have any leverage and what teams are going to trade for him using assets - if they know he's just a 'rental'. I'm assuming teams will want a guarantee from Spida (extension) before trading for him. Spida will have something to say about his future

I said it the day he was traded to the Cavs. Danny Ainge's plan was to trade him to a team that he thought Donovan would leave at the first chance he got.

Notice how the Jazz start collecting the Cavs' draft picks next summer, when there's a possibility of Donovan not being on the roster.

I think the same rule we have applied throughout Leon’s tenure here will hold true in regard to any move we make that doesn’t bring in a superstar.

Will we have enough assets left over to make the superstar trade?

In this “proposal” the key is what picks are on the table.

After a trade for Mikal or Caruso or PG or KAT or whoever they are going to want to make sure they can offer 3-4 unprotected picks in a single package.
I’m thinking that’s ‘26 ‘28 ‘30 ‘32 and need to avoid Stephan Rule as well.

So in terms of available picks to trade for a “non superstar” we looking at #24 and #25 this year, our 25 pick, Milwaukees 25 pick and the Washington and Detroit picks.

If we can get any of aforementioned names with that pick package, it’s a win

I think the thing that may hurt the Knicks (and its a good thing), is that it's not "the same old Knicks" when it comes to unprotected picks, and since they are being run competently the early unprotected picks may not hold as much value as they usually do.

Garland would be interesting to the Pelicans. But they should get rid of CJ McCollum.

Ingram is an expiring. It's hard for a small market club to trust that he will re-sign.
