Wooow, Jerry West must be really good friends with David Stern.

West isn't employed by either team.

point is that lakers ALWAYS get what they want. kobe, shaq, gasol, magic, kareem. fitting that the nba doesnt even hide it this time lol they run the hornets hahaha

He'll probably be traded for a smaller salary player to create cap space.

Turiaf is only making $4 million. Assuming it's safe to say that the Nuggets GM hasn't gone bonkers it won't be Ty Lawson that's coming back. The only other guys that might remotely make sense for even bothering with this: a) Kosta Koufos or b) Gary Forbes. Koufos makes $2 million which wouldn't clear enough room for Chandler. That leaves Gary Forbes who the Knicks really have no need for. Besides, the Nuggets currently have only $28 million worth of players under contract. They need to meet the minimum team salary floor and are already short players. It would make a lot more sense for the Nuggets to just take Turiaf for a handshake. At best I'd imagine it would be for a 2nd round pick in like 2020 or something.

I know what that point was. The West joke in the Gasol-Kwame swap made sense because West was employed by Memphis at the time. Now it just makes no sense. That's all I'm pointing out.

Reports are saying it'll be a salary dump. Whether it's a pick or a player on a small contract they don't really want. Doesn't really matter what we get back. It's just a salary dump. Based on our track record as a franchise, odds are we actually GIVE the Nuggets something to take Turiaf's contract a la Curry/AR deal.

Don't we play the Lakers In January? Ratings draw = CP3/Kobe vs. Melo/Amare.

i always thought for 2 of the lakers big men you could get either howard or paul. but one is not worth that much. at least i hope not.

I don't know that Gasol is any better for NOH though... He's 31 himself...

At least Bynum has the upside of being young. Still, I have to hold out hope that the Magic aren't going to gift wrap Howard to the Lakers for Bynum + trash, particularly given that the Lakers stole the last superstar center that they had, and the Lakers have no way of getting Dwight other than trading for him.

Just a hunch regarding Gasol...I can see the Lakers trading him to the Magic for Dwight, then flipping him to Minnie to reuinite/pair him with Rubio. Lord knows the Wolves have the young assets to pull it off.

What's made the Lakers so good the past 3 years was that trio of talented 7-footers. They're better, but I'm not sure they're that much better.
