McDonald beasting on that final drive was beautiful.
Still need Saleh gone before anything changes. This team was one again unprepared and undisciplined. They just had more talent, and that won out in the end, in spite of Saleh's coaching.

7 wins, no more. Team lacks discipline, the offense is stale as Hackett sucks, the defensive line is ass and Sauce looked like dogsh*t today.
Saleh blows and Douglas is a poor GM.

Since I'm the optimist here, I say 8-8.

You are correct. I'm sorry. The extra win to move them just out of range of an impact player in the draft.

It's crazy how all of the Jets success included A-Rod making changes off his pre-snap reads. The defense would look a lot better if they didn't pick up a handful of unnecessary flags that extended drives for the Titans.
I do feel pretty good about this offense. The more Mike Williams is able to play, the more things will open up. Allen is the youngest player to score a TD from the line of scrimmage in a ridiculous amount of time. The O-Line is still gelling since they basically didn't play together in the preseason. So, there's a lot to like.
The defense is starting to feel snake-bitten though. Reed missed the game, Michael Carter is dealing with an ankle issue, Johnson out for the season, Mosley has been awful because he's hurt, and if they can't bring Reddick in before this semi-bye week after Thursday (ten days off), then it really is hopeless...I wonder if Denver would take back their sixth for JFM

Seeing the adjustment on offense at the end of the first half was great. I was getting very upset watching this game. Spot on post. I will watch them again.
What's going on with Reddick? We need him!

The Reddick situation has gotten ugly. Neither side has been willing to budge, even as the Jets could REALLY use that edge rusher now. Reddick's lost so much money at this point, that it's hard to picture any single-year pay raise being enough to get him in the building and the Jets don't want to pay him long term (at least not what he wants to be paid).
There's one genuine deadline left for this. If Reddick doesn't report to the Jets by week 10, this year is basically voided for him. So, he wouldn't see free agency and the Jets would technically have him on this same 1-year contract for next season. He could technically cheat that by showing up, claiming an injury, and sitting out...but that's not a good look when you're trying to get 20+ million per season at his age.
So, we're in no man's land. Who really has leverage will probably be decided in the next two weeks. The Jets have 2 winnable games and Reddick's forfeiting a LOT of bread each week. If New York is 3-1 after a month, Reddick will be in a tough spot. There's also the chance New York tries to bring in someone like Yannick Ngakoue as a sort of band-aid.

Re: The Official NY Jets Thread.
Biggest things I've seen the first two weeks:
-Rodgers still has high level arm talent. When Manning, Brees, even Brady to an extent started to show they were truly washed was when the arm left them and they couldn't push the ball downfield... Rodgers can still sling the rock even if he's physically diminished. He can't extend plays like he once did which limits his ceiling but, the fact that he can still put it on a receivers hands in blanket coverage down the sidelines is a massive development for our offense. It's only a matter of time until Garrett has a big week.
- To the above point if you're going to have a statue-esque QB you need to have elite pass protection and the O-Line has been elite in this regard. If we can keep Rodgers clean while he shakes the rust off, then we're going to see a really dangerous passing offense as the season progresses and guys like Mike Williams get healthy.
-That being said the run-blocking is concerning. We're dead last in rushing yards gained before contact through 2 weeks. Luckily Breece is a beast and can turn what should be negative gains into neutral or positive plays. That needs to get sorted because Rodgers isn't good enough to win despite a terrible run game.
-The Reddick situation needs to be resolved. No Jermaine Johnson means basically no pass rush. A lack of pass rush dooms a Saleh/Ulbrich defense because they do not blitz. Luckily, we can get by against Will Levis and Jacoby Brissett most likely but, something has to give there.
-Our safeties are not great. This defense concerns me as a whole. The Huff, JFM and Jefferson departures may doom us. Luckily our QB schedule doesn't look too brutal which may make our defense look more passable than it is. For example a guy like Will Levis isn't going to kill you... But the thought of having to play Josh Allen twice, CJ Stroud, Matt Stafford and even Geno Smith scares the chit out of me given the state of this defense right now.
-I'll only worry about Hackett if Rodgers isn't the QB. Until then, Rodgers is basically the OC after the scripted plays and I trust him to do the right thing
Thursday is a big game for this team. 3rd game in 10 days. Can we dig deep and get it done against a motivated but talent-devoid rival? This should be a game where Rodgers shows to be a different class than Jacoby Brissett and makes the difference but, this also has same ole Jets written all over it...If we lose because Rhamondre runs all over us, I think i'll just be out on this team. It's a big prove it game. Losing to the 49ers week one is excusable. Losing to this Pats team, at home, after two games together to build some chemistry is not...

There was a time I knew everything about this team. Now I barely know when the next game is.

Clipping these two out, because I mostly co-sign the rest. I mainly agree with these two too, but there's reason for hope on these two imo.
I think the run-blocking can improve a few ways. We saw the Jets get off the run-run-pass formula in the second half, and things started opening up. So, hopefully the predictable playcalling will fade and the passing game will open up the run. The O-line also sat for most or all of the preseason, so they have more gelling to do.
On the safeties, I'm trying to give Chuck Clark some room because he's coming off a torn ACL in last preseason. I'm hoping he rounds into better shape and mobility over time. Tony Adams is what he is, but he had a hell of a day finishing tackles that everyone else was missing in San Fran.
My biggest worry is that the Jets run-stopping has been weak. But I think CJ Mosley limping around was hurting things. Sherwood came on and the run defense improved a lot. But with even less edge help than the first two weeks, and short week fatigue, this really is a week where the Pats could aim to punch New York in the gut.

I'm more worried about the lack of preparation, coaching, and discipline than anything else heading into tonight.

The coaching staff sucks. I still hold it's a 7 win team with Saleh and Hackett.

I like that the offense went pass happy to start, but that holding call on Moses kinda killed the drive.

I love seeing Lazard bounce back from last season with these TDs...but it's killing my fantasy pick of Garrett Wilson.

That's a TD. Why are we going to commercials? This replay should take one look.
